DOMESTIC BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 24th, 2012. He was bound by a Recognizance with the condition to reside at a certain address and abide by the rules of that residence. It is alleged that on July 24th, 2012 he was found to no longer be residing at the said residence. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance and held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it may identify the victim involved in this matter.

 

BREACH OF PROBATION ORDER & DISQUALIFIED DRIVE

 

            Cornwall, ON- Aurelle Marsolais, 39 of Cornwall was arrested on July 24th, 2012. She was bound by a Probation Order with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on July 24th, 2012 she was found operating a motor vehicle by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division while being a Disqualified Driver and under 3 separate driving suspensions. She was charged with Drive while Disqualified and Breach of Probation Order. She was released to appear in court on August 30th, 2012.

 

BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 25th, 2012. He was bound by a Recognizance with the conditions of no contact with certain people and not to attend within 100 meters of their residence. It is alleged that on July 25th, 2012 he attended the said residence and had contact with the said people. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance and held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this matter.

BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Norman Deshane, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on July 23rd, 2012. He was bound by a Recognizance with the condition to report to a bail supervision program and follow the conditions as directed. It is alleged that on July 4th, 2012 and July 16th, 2012 he failed to report. Police were contacted and an investigation. He was charged with 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance and held in custody until court later that day.

 

Cornwall, ON- Three Cornwall males were arrested on July 23rd, 2012. They were all bound by Undertakings/Recognizance with the condition to abstain from communicating directly or indirectly with one another. It is alleged that on July 23rd, 2012 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division found the males together. Scott Parisien, 24, Justin Duval, 28 and David Delormier, 30 were all charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking and held in custody until court the following day.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 34-year-old Cornwall female was arrested on July 23th, 2012. She was bound by a Recognizance with the condition of not to associate or communicate directly with her 38-year-old ex-husband. It is alleged that on July 19th, 2012 she got into an altercation with him when she assaulted him. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Domestic Assault and Fail to Comply with Recognizance. She was held in custody until court the following day. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

TRAFFIC STOPS RESULTS IN CHARGES

(South Glengarry) – On July 23, 2012 at approximately 9:30am, a vehicle was observed by police travelling at a high rate of speed on South Service Road, South Glengarry Township. As the officer attempted to stop the vehicle with emergency lights activated, the driver failed to comply with the officer’s instructions. The vehicle was intercepted a short distance away (near 1st Line Road).

Steven HARALAMBAKOS (19) of Pierrefonds QC was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Stop for Police
– Race a Motor Vehicle

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on September 25, 2012. The vehicle was seized and impounded as per policy.
(South Stormont) – On July 23, 2012 at approximately 12:15pm, an OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) officer registered a vehicle at a high rate of speed on Highway 401, South Stormont Township. As the officer attempted to stop the vehicle with emergency lights activated, the driver failed to comply with the officer’s instructions. The vehicle was intercepted a short distance away (near Post Road).

Martha EGBE (37) of Lachine Qc was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Stop for Police
– Speeding (145km/h in 100km/h zone)

She was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on September 11, 2012.
MISCHIEFS

(South Glengarry) – On July 23, 2012, SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of mischief at the SJ McLeod Public School, South Glengarry Township. Information revealed that 2 sets of windows were smashed sometime over the past weekend (20-23Jul12).

An investigation continues.

 

(North Glengarry) – On July 23, 2012, SD&G OPP began an investigation into report of damage done to a piece of heavy equipment while unattended on a property on Concession 15, North Glengarry Township. Information revealed that over the past weekend (20-23Jul12), culprit(s) smashed the window of an excavator.

An investigation continues.

 

THEFTS

(North Glengarry) – On July 23, 2012, SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of a theft of a satellite dish from a residence on Sandfield Street in the town of Alexandria. Overnight (22-23Jul12) culprit(s) removed the dish from the exterior of the home.

(South Glengarry) – On July 24, 2012, SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of theft of specialty stones from a property on Fraser Road, South Glengarry Township. Overnight (23-24Jul12) culprit(s) removed a pallet of limestone, valued at approximately $1000.00.

STORM RELATED CALLS FOR SERVICE

(SD&G) – The storm which affected SD&G late Monday (23Jul12) evening kept SD&G OPP officers busy responding to a variety of calls for service from downed trees and wires to alarm activations. Officers responded to a total of 16 calls for service (Stormont-7, Dundas-3, Glengarry-6). Fortunately, no injuries resulted.

BARN FIRE

(South Glengarry) – On 22 July, 2012 at approximately 7:00 am, members of the SD&G Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to assist the South Glengarry Fire Department with a fully engulfed barn on County Road 34 at Concession 4, South Glengarry Township.

The OPP conducted traffic control while the fire department subdued the fire.

At this time the amount of damage is unknown but 45 cattle have been lost as a result of the fire in addition to over $75, 000 worth of equipment.

It is unknown what caused the fire but it has been deemed not suspicious.
