Police Blotter for the Cornwall Ontario Area for Monday October 29, 2012

WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Ashley King, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on October 26th, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that she failed to comply with her Undertaking and a warrant was issued on September 5th, 2012. She was held in custody until bail court the following day.

 

DRUGS

            Cornwall, ON- Tyler Landon, 21 of Long Sault was arrested on October 27th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 27th, 2012 he was found by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be MDMA (ecstasy). He was charged with Possession of a controlled substance and released to appear in court on November 27th, 2012.

 

REFUSAL

 

            Cornwall, ON- Jing Xiao, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on October 27th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 27th, 2012, he continuously failed to provide a breath sample when requested by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division during a R.I.D.E program. He was charged with Refusal and released to appear in court on November 6th, 2012.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

            Cornwall, ON- A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 28th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 28th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 28-year-old wife when he assaulted her. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

ASSAULT POLICE & RESIST ARREST

            Cornwall, ON- Meagan Hamill, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on October 28th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 28th, 2012 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division attempted to remove her from an establishment due to her intoxicated state, she assaulted him with a plastic bottle and resisted arrest. It is further alleged that once at the police station she assaulted another police officer. The police officers did not require medical treatment. She was charged with 2 counts of Assault Police and Resist Arrest. She was released to appear in court on November 27th, 2012.

 

BREACH OF PROBATION

 

            Cornwall, ON- Chantal Hamelin, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on October 27th, 2012. She was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of not to consume alcohol in the first 12 months of probation order and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on October 27th, 2012 she was found by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division to be under the influence of alcohol. She was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order and released to appear in court on November 20th, 2012.

 

IMPAIRED OPERATION

 

            Cornwall, ON- Joel Mayer, 23 of Cornwall was arrested shortly after midnight on October 28th, 2012. It is all alleged that he was found by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division to be operating a motor vehicle on Gloucester Street while being under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with Impaired Operation and transported for further testing which resulted in an additional charge of Over .80. He was released to appear in court on November 13th, 2012.

 

ASSAULT & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 28th, 2012. He was bound by a Youth Probation Order with the relevant conditions to abstain from the use of alcohol and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on October 28th, 2012 he got into an altercation with a 21-year-old female acquaintance and assaulted her while under the influence of alcohol. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order and Assault. He was released to appear in court on December 4th, 2012. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 21-year-old Cornwall female was arrested on October 28th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 28th, 2012 she got into an altercation with a 19-year-old male acquaintance when she assaulted him with a curtain rod. The male suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Assault with a Weapon and released to appear in court on December 4th, 2012.

 

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY& BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Andy Paul, 45 of Cornwall was arrested on October 28th, 2012. He was bound by a Probation Order with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on October 4th, 2012 he was found to be in possession of a stolen validation sticker. He was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and released to appear in court on November 27th, 2012.

(South Glengarry) – The Ontario Provincial Police, SD&G  OPP Crime Unit have charged three men in connection with a robbery that occurred on Saturday 27Oct2012,  South Glengarry Township.

The three males (Shawn KILBRIDE 24yrs, Wayne JESTIN 24yrs and Jessie LEROUX 22yrs) from Russell Township face charges of:

– Robbery with Weapon
– Break, Enter a place-commit indictable offence
– Assault with a Weapon
– Mischief Under $5,000
– Assault Cause Bodily Harm
– Utter threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
– Disguise with Intent

All of the males were held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Domestic Incident/Impaired Driver/ Racing Law Infractions 2012-10-29

 

(North Glengarry) – On 27Oct12, at approximately 11:30am, SD&G OPP Officer responded to a report of a domestic incident on St. Paul St. Alexandria On.

The investigation revealed that a male and his 42yr old common-law wife were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the female assaulting the male.

She was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Assault

She is scheduled to appear 11Dec12 in Cornwall court.
(South Dundas) – On 27Oct12, at approximately 11:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Highway 401, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 19yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Forcible Confinement

He is scheduled to appear 20Nov12 in Cornwall court.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Glengarry) – On 26Oct12, at approximately 11:15pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 18, South Glengarry Township.

The stop revealed that the 45yr old male driver (Claude DESCHAMPS of North Glengarry) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 08Nov12 in Cornwall court.

 
RACING LAW INFRACTIONS

– 28Oct12 (5:00pm), SD&G OPP officer stops an east bound Toyota on Highway 401, South Glengarry….162km/h (posted 100km/h zone).

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Two Arrested in Robbery 2012-10-27

 

(South Glengarry) – On 27Oct12 , at approximately 12:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress on  Old County Road 2, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that several males forced their way into a residence and demanded money. The males fled the scene in a silver van with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police quickly established a perimeter and with the assistance of the K9 and Emergency Response Team (ERT) two of the suspects were located and arrested.

The occupants of the residence, an adult male and female were both injured and were transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital McConnell Site.

SD&G OPP officers assisted by the SD&G Crime Unit and the East Regional Support Team continue the investigation.
