OPPBREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Kyle Shaver, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on December 31st, 2012. He was bound by a Recognizance with the conditions of obey a curfew between the hours of 9pm to 6am and not to associate with anyone with a criminal record. It is alleged that on December 31st, 2012 shortly after 10:30 pm he was found by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division to be away from his residence and with someone with a criminal record. He was charged with 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance and held in custody until court the following day.

 

Cornwall, ON- Robert Thibeault, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on January 1st, 2013. He was bound by a Conditional Sentence Order with the relevant conditions to abstain from the purchase, possession or consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 1st, 2013 he was found under the influence of alcohol by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol. He was charged with breach of Conditional Sentence Order and held in custody until court the following day.

 

BREACH, DRUGS & ASSAUL POLICE

 

            Cornwall, ON- Frank Leaf, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on January 1st, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 1st, 2013 he was found to be in possession of controlled substances believed to be marijuana and ecstasy. Upon his arrest, he assaulted police and resisted. The Police officer was not injured. He was charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime, possession for the purpose of trafficking, resist arrest, assault a police officer and breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 1st, 2013. It is alleged that on January 1st, 2013 shortly after midnight he got into an altercation with his 31-year-old common-law-wife when he assaulted her. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

Cornwall, ON- A 41-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 3rd, 2013. It is alleged that on January 3rd, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 37-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic assault and held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS, SEXUAL ASSAULT & BREAK AND ENTER

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 1st, 2013. It is alleged that on January 1st, 2013 the male unlawfully gained entry to his 27-year-old ex-girlfriends residence when he assaulted her, threaten her and sexually assaulted her. The victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Sexual assault, Overcoming resistance (chocking), Utter Death Threats, Domestic Assault cause Bodily Harm and Break & Enter. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Brittany Benedict, 29 of Akwesasne was arrested on January 1st, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on November 13, 2012 she fail to stop for police and a warrant was issued. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 31st, 2013.

 

Cornwall, ON- Andre Ouimet, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on January 2nd, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on August 2nd, 2012 he failed to appear court and a bench warrant was issued. He was released to appear in court on January 31st, 2013.

 

Cornwall, ON- Dean McLaughlin, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on January 2nd, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. He was bound by a Probation Order with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that between November 14th, 2012 and November 21st, 2012 he uttered forged documents and fraudulently obtained money from a local bank. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 3 counts of Fraud under $5000, Utter forged documents and Breach of Probation Order. He was released to appear in court on January 31st, 2013.

 

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 52-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 1st, 2013. It is alleged that on December 27th, 2012 while plowing snow with his pickup truck and snowblade, he proceeded towards his 56-year-old neighbour who had to jump out of the way. The victim was not injured. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Assault with a weapon and released to appear in court on January 22nd, 2013. His name was not released as it may identify the victim.

 

BREAK & ENTER

 

            Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred between December 31st, 2012 and January 1st, 2013 at a Louisa Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed a black and white leather cleaved jacket, sunglasses, a black and white First Act electric guitar and amplifier.  If you have any information regarding this break & enter, please contact the Service at 613-932-2110 or Crime Stoppers at 613-937-8477.

 

            Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred between December 26th, 2012 and December 27th, 2012 at a Marlborough Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed an X-Box 360, an undisclosed amount of money, a black I-phone with a cracked back, PS3 120 gig slim PS3, numerous PS3 games and controllers. Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred on January 1st, 2012 shortly before 11:30 pm at a Pitt Street store. The suspect(s) gained entry by smashing a window and removed a white with red trip Orbea Aqua TPX road bicycle. (South Glengarry) – On 02Jan13, at approximately 10:00pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting a R.I.D.E spot check at the junction of County Road 27 and Highway 401 east bound off ramp, South Glengarry Township.

A black Volkswagen attended the location and a male passenger was found to be breaching his probation.

The 22yr old male (from Cornwall, On) was arrested and faces charges of:

– Breach of Probation Order x2

He is scheduled to appear 06Feb13 in Alexandria court.

 

BREAK AND ENTER

(North Stormont) – On 02Jan13, at approximately 5:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Newington-Cedar St. North Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime between 23rd Dec12 – 02nd Jan13 unknown suspects attended a residence that was being renovated and removed twenty boxes of flooring.

The investigation is ongoing.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Charges Laid/Breached Conditions 2013-01-02

 

(South Stormont) – On 01Jan13, at approximately 4:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Stormont Township.

The stop revealed that a 22yr old male driver (from Scarborough, On) attempted to use another person’s licence when he identified himself. Further investigation revealed that the male had a number of printed credit cards in his possession.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Possess – credit card data
– Personation with intent – intent to gain advantage
– Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer

The male was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
BREACHED CONDITIONS

(South Stormont) – On 31Dec12, at approximately 3:00pm, HSD (Highway Safety Division) OPP members had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 18, South Stormont Township. The stop revealed that the 37yr old female driver (from Winchester, On) was breaching her earlier release conditions.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

– Fail to Comply – Undertaking or Recognizance
– Breach of Recognizance

She was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Domestic Incident/Racing Law Infraction 2012-12-31

 

(South Dundas) – On 29Dec12, at approximately 8:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Ontario St. South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 32yr old husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male damaging the residence.

He was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Mischief Under $5,000

He is scheduled to appear 15Jan13 in Cornwall court.
RACING LAW INFRACTION

– 30Dec12 (6:45pm), HSD (Highway Safety Division) OPP member stops an east bound Honda on Highway 401, South Stormont….180km/h (posted 100km/h zone).

“WEAR IT TO WIN” WINNERS PRESENTED WITH AWARDS

(North Glengarry) On December 31st, 2012, the winners (draw) of the annual “Wear it to Win” safety initiative were presented with their awards at the Alexandria Home Hardware. The winner of the bicycle (donated by Alexandria Home Hardware) is Cedric Leblanc (10) and the winner of the skateboard (donated by Raage Skateshop) is Patrick Dault (11). These youths were 2 of several who were stopped by SD&G OPP officers in North Glengarry wearing helmets and making safe choices.
