Cornwall, ON- A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 18th, 2013. It is alleged that on January 5th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 27-year-old wife when he assaulted her, threaten her and caused damaged to property. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault, Utter Threats and Mischief under $5000. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON- A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 18th, 2013. It is alleged that on January 5th, 2013 ho got in an altercation with his 33-year-old wife when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

THEFT

 

Cornwall, ON- Deborah James, 58 of Cornwall was arrested on January 19th, 2013. It is alleged that on December 22nd, 2012 she attended a Pitt Street store and removed property without making any attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Theft under $5000 and released to appear in court on February 12th, 2013.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON- James Jackson, 32 of Akwesasne was arrested on January 19th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on November 4th, 2012 he assaulted a 34-year-old acquaintance. The victim did not require medication treatment. He was charged with Assault and released to appear on court on February 19th, 2013.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF & BREACH

Cornwall, ON- A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 20th, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to Notify Police of any change of address. It is alleged that on January 10th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 20-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her and caused damaged to property. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault, Mischief under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, BREACHES & CRUELTY TO ANIMAL

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on January 20th, 2013. The youth was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to abide by the rules of the residence. It is alleged that on January 20th, 2013 the youth got into an altercation with her 14-year-old sister when she assaulted her with a toy and threaten her. It is also alleged that she assaulted her 36-year-old mother and assault the family dog. The victims did not require medication treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The Youth was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order, Assault, Assault with a weapon, Utter a Threat to Cause Death and Cruelty to Animal. She was held in custody until court the following day. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REGARDING ROBBERY

 

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Robbery that occurred at approximately 6:00 pm on January 19th, 2013 at a local grocery store on Second Street. A suspect approached a 32-year-old female, assaulted her and demanded money. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed.

The suspect is described as Caucasian male, approximately 5’10”, 180 lbs, English speaking, wearing a long black winter jacket, possibly ¾  in length with brown fur around the hood.

ROBBERY ARREST           

 

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service have arrested four individuals in connection with a Robbery that occurred shortly before 4:30 am on January 17th, 2013.  Two suspects allegedly attended a local convenience store on Marlborough Street, grabbed the store employee and removed an undisclosed amount of money, lottery tickets and cigarettes.

 

As a result of an investigation, the following people were arrested and charged with various offences related to the robbery.

 

Matthew Brunet, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on January 17th, 2013 and charged with Robbery with Violence and Disguise with Intent.

 

Justin Poirier, 19 of Long Sault was arrested on January 17th, 2013 when he was found to be in possession of property allegedly obtained from the robbery. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was charged with Breach of Probation Order and Possession of Property obtained by Crime.

 

Camille Cormier, 57 of Cornwall was arrest on January 17th, 2013 when he was found to be in possession of property allegedly obtained from the robbery. He was charged with Possession of Property obtained by Crime.

 

Adam Helmer, 21 of Cornwall was arrest on January 17th, 2013 when he was found to be in possession of property allegedly obtained from the robbery. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was charged with Breach of Probation Order and Possession of Property obtained by Crime.

 

Further investigation also resulted in Matthew Brunet, 20, being further charged with a second count of Robbery with Violence and Disguise with intent for an alleged robbery that occurred on January 10th, 2013 at a Second Street Mac’s Milk convenience store.

 

They were all held in custody to appear in court on January 18th, 2013.

 

ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM

 

            Jacob Martin, 20 of Akwesasne, was arrested on January 17th, 2013. It is alleged that on January 12th, 2013 he got into an altercation with a 45-year-old man when he assaulted him. The victim required medication treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Assault caused bodily harm and released to appear in court on February 19th, 2013.

 

SEXUAL ASSAULT & SEXUAL INTERFERENCE

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on January 17th, 2013. It is alleged that between August 2012 and December 2012, the youth inappropriately touched two neighbouring children ages 8 and 11. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with Sexual Assault and sexual interference. The youth was released to an adult to appear in court on February 19th, 2013. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 20-year-old Cornwall female was arrested on January 17th, 2013. She was bound by a Youth Criminal Justice Act Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 17th, 2013, she got into an altercation with a 45-year-old acquaintance’s mother.  The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Assault and released to appear in court on February 12th, 2013. Her name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

BREAK & ENTER

 

            Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred between January 16th, 2013 and January 17th, 2013 at a Montreal Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed a numerous perfumes bottles, several frozen meat items, a suede and a leather jacket, Betty Boots watch, Coco-Cola radio, ¼ karat diamond gold ring, gold necklace with a pink stone and prescription medication. Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Collision Leads to Arrest/Domestic Incident 2013-01-21

(South Dundas) – On 18Jan13, at approximately 9:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on County Road 31, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a 34yr old female driver (Tina Louise JACK of South Dundas Township) was operating a 2004 Chevy Impala northbound on County Road 31 (when for reasons under investigation) she lost control and entered the west ditch.

Further investigation found the female driver to be operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and faces charges of:

– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle

She is scheduled to appear 05Feb13 in Morrisburg court.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(South Stormont) – On 18Jan13, at approximately 7:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Power Dam Drive, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 36yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
