Cornwall PoliceATTEMPTED ABDUCTION

 

            Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating an attempt abduction which occurred shortly after 4:00 pm on January 24th, 2014. A 12-year-old Cornwall girl was walking on Ivan Crescent when she was approached by a van described as Brownish Grey with rust on the bottom and a silver trim along the side. The van’s middle seat was removed and it was dirty. A passenger at the rear of the van attempted to grab the 12-year-old girl who was able to get free and run to safety. The victim did not require medical treatment. The passenger of the van is described as a male with tan skin, stubble on his face, 30’s, wearing a black Hurley sweater and jeans. BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- A 12-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on January 24th, 2013. The youth was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of obey by house rules as set out by your mother and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 24th, 2013 the youth failed to follow the house rules. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and held in custody until court the following day. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 24th, 2013. It is alleged that on January 24th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 21-year-old girlfriend when he caused damaged to property. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Mischief under $5000 and released to appear in court on February 26th, 2013. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

BREACHES & RESIST ARREST

            Cornwall, ON- Marie Doiron, 47 of Cornwall was arrested on January 24th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, do not leave your residence if you have consumed alcohol and not to attend a certain address in the city of Cornwall. It is alleged that on January 24th, 2013 she was located at the said residence under the influence of alcohol. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. Upon her arrest, she resisted. She was charged with 3 counts of Breach of Probation Order and Resist Arrest. She was released to appear in court on February 28th, 2013.

 

WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Joel Lascelle, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on January 24th, 2013 under the strength of outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on March 28th, 2012 he failed to attend court. He was located and released to appear in court on February 12th, 2014.

 

STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE

            Cornwall, ON-The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating the theft of a 2000 Chrysler Intrepid, 4 doors, grey in colour from a Water Street East parking lot. (South Glengarry) – On 24Jan13, at approximately 2:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Concession 6, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime between 10:30am – 1:30pm unknown suspect(s) gained access to a residence and removed a computer, jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The investigation is ongoing.
(South Glengarry) – On 24Jan13, at approximately 6:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Concession 3, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime between 5:30am – 6:30pm, unknown suspect(s) gained access to a residence and removed various items of jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The investigation is ongoing.

(South Stormont) – On 23Jan13, at approximately 11:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Stormont Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure (small amount) of suspected marihuana. Further investigation revealed that the 30yr old male driver (from Toronto, On) was breaching his earlier release conditions.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance
– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
