Cornwall PoliceFRAUD & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- Jarod Burd, 37 of Cornwall was arrested on February 8th, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that between October 23rd and 31st, 2012 he attended a local bank and fraudulently made deposits. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Fraud under $5000 and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was released to appear in court on March 28th, 2013.

 

ASSAULT & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 19-year-old Cornwall female was arrested on February 8th, 2013. She was bound by a Youth Probation Order with the conditions to Keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 9th, 2013 she got into an altercation with her 51-year-old mother when she assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Assault and Breach of Probation Order. She was released to appear in court on March 28th, 2013. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this matter.

 

ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 8th, 2013. It is alleged that on January 31st, 2013 he assaulted a 17-year-old male while at school. The victim was transported to hospital for minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Assault and released to an adult to appear in court on March 21st, 2013. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

ASSAULT & ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 53-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 8th, 2013. It is alleged that on February 8th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 21-year-old female neighbour when he raised a shovel at her. It is also alleged that he assaulted his 23-year-old male neighbour. The victims did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He was released to appear in court on February 23rd, 2013. His name was not released as it would identify the victims.

 

BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 8th, 2013. The youth was bound by a Recognizance with the condition to not to be away from her residence between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am. It is alleged that on February 6th, 2013 the youth failed to return home for curfew. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance and held in custody until court on February 11th, 2013. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

            Cornwall, ON- Christopher Sabourin, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on February 9th, 2013. He was bound by two Probation Orders with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to have contact with a specific person. It is alleged that on February 9th, 2013 he was found in the company of the said person by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. He was charged with 3 counts of breach of Probation Order and released to appear in court on March 28th, 2013.

Cornwall, ON- Laura Green, 40 of Cornwall was arrested on February 9th, 2013. She was bound by a 2 Probation Orders with the conditions of keep the peace, Notify the court or the probation officer in advance of any change of name or address and may consume alcohol in her home but not leave her residence if she has done so. She was also bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to notify Cornwall Police Service in writing within 24 hrs with any change in address, abstain from the consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on February 9th, 2013, she was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed that she failed to notify the probation office and the Cornwall Community Police Service of a change of address. She was charged with 3 counts of Breach of Probation Order and 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. She was held in custody until court the following day.

OBSTUCT, PERSONATION & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- Michael Sweeney, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on February 9th, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on February 9th, 2013 he provided a false name to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. He was charged with Obstruct Justice, Personation and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was released to appear in court on March 28th, 2013.

 

DOMESTIC SEXUAL ASSAULT, FORCIBLE CONFINENMENT, CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPON & BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 9th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour,  not to associate, contact or hold any communication with his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend save with her written revocable consent and only if you have not consumed alcohol or drugs 24 hours prior, not to be within 50 meters of her place or residence, employment, education or worship save with her written revocable consent. He is also bound by a Recognizance with the relevant conditions of not to associate or communicate directly or indirectly with 16-year-old ex-girlfriend and not to attend within 50 meters of her residence, employment or any place she may be at, not to attend a certain address, except in the presence of a police officer for belongings and abstain from the consumption of alcohol absolutely or being found anyplace where alcohol is sold save restaurants. It is alleged that on February 9th, 2013 he attended his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend’s residence while intoxicated when he inappropriately touched her and prevented her from leaving. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was located in the residence by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. Upon the arrest, he was found in possession of a knife. He was charged with 2 counts of Domestic Sexual Assault, Forcible Confinement, Possession of a Weapon, Carrying Concealment Weapon, 3 counts of Breach of Probation Order, 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

DRUGS & BREACH

            Cornwall, ON- Shari Gagnon, 44 of Cornwall was arrested on February 9th, 2013. She was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to not associate with persons with a drug criminal record, not to possess any controlled substances and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. She was found by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be Methamphetamine pills (speed) while accompanied to persons with a criminal record involving drug. She was charged with 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was released to appear in court on March 28th, 2013.

WARRANT, DRUGS & BREACHES 

Cornwall, ON- William Rogers, 63 of Cornwall was arrested on February 9th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on January 28th, 2013 he failed to attend court. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of not to associate with anyone known to have a criminal record or known to deal drugs, not possess drugs and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Upon his arrest, he was found to be in the company of someone with a criminal record and in possession of a controlled substance believed to be Methamphetamine (speed). He was charged with 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Possession of a controlled substance and held in custody until court the following day.

Cornwall, ON- Nancy Leach, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on February 9th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on January 28th, 2013 she failed to attend court. She was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of not to associate with anyone known to have a criminal record or known to deal drugs, not possess drugs and keep peace and be of good behaviour. Upon her arrest, she was found to be in the company of someone with a criminal record and in possession of a controlled substance believed to be Methamphetamine (speed). She was charged with 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Possession of a controlled substance and held in custody until court the following day.

IMPAIRED OPERATION & OVER 80

            Cornwall, ON- Michael Hughes, 49 of Cornwall was arrested shortly prior to 9:45 pm on February 9th, 2013. It is alleged that he was operating a motor vehicle on Power Dam Drive while under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and was transported for further testing which resulted in an additional charge of Over 80. He was released to appear in court on February 28th, 2013.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

            Cornwall, ON- A 23-year-old Morrisburg male was arrested on February 10th, 2013. It is alleged that between January 15th and 31st, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. It is also alleged that he has continuously contacted her and attending her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and Criminal Harassment. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE

           

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating the theft of a 2002 Chevrolet Impala, 4 door, grey in colour from a Third Street West residence between February 9th and 10th, 2013. Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating the theft of a 2007 International 920 truck, and the vehicle has Purolator written across the door from Purolator located on Boundry Road. Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Domestic Incident 2013-02-11

(South Glengarry) – On 09Feb13, at approximately 9:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on 3rd Line Road, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a male and his 32yr old girlfriend were involved in a verbal altercation. Further investigation revealed that the female had assaulted the male on two previous occasions.

The female was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault x2
– Forcible Confinement

She is scheduled to appear 26Feb13 in Cornwall court.
