SEARCH WARRANT UPDATE
Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service Emergency Response Team successfully executed a search warrant approximately 8:30 am on February 14th, 2013. Investigation revealed that a male was allegedly in possession of prohibited weapons. Prior to executing the search warrant, the male left his Marguerite D’Youville residence in a vehicle and was subsequently stopped on Montreal Road. A high risk take down was conducted as precautionary measure.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Cornwall male that had been arrested earlier, was released unconditionally. The investigation is ongoing.
SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED

A 29-year-old male of Cornwall was arrested for weapon offences. The investigation is still ongoing.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 12, 2013. It is alleged that on December 20th, 2012 she was involved in an altercation where she assaulted a 16-year-old male. The male suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with assault and released to appear in court on March 21, 2013. Her name was not released as per provisions provided under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
HISTORICAL DOMESTIC ASSAULT, SEXUAL ASSAULT & MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON- A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 12th, 2013. It is alleged that between November 25th, 2011 and December 1st, 2012 he assaulted, sexually assaulted his 27-year-old girlfriend on several occasions and caused damaged to property. The victim did not require medical treatment. He was charged with 7 counts of Domestic Assault, 2 counts of Sexual Assault and Mischief under $5000. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this matter.
FRAUD
Cornwall, ON- Carrie Anderson, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on February 12th, 2013. It is alleged that between December 18th, 2012 and January 17th, 2013, she used a friend’s credit card and withdrew an undisclosed amount of money. Police were contacted and a investigation followed. She was charged with 4 counts of Fraud under $5000. She was released to appear in court on Marche 5th, 2013.
ASSAULT POLICE
Cornwall, ON- Benoit Duval, 57 of Laval, Quebec, was arrested on February 13rd, 2013. It is alleged that on February 13th, 2013 he assaulted a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. The police officer was not injured. He was charged with Assault Police and was released to appear in court on March 5th, 2013.
BREAK & ENTER, BREACHES & POSSESSION OF BREAK IN INSTRUMENTS
Cornwall, ON- Patrick Tessier, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on February 13th, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to abide by a curfew from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. It is alleged that shortly after 3:15 am on February 13th, 2013 he was found at a Pitt Street store by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. Investigation revealed that he had break and enter tools. He was charged with Break & Enter with intent to commit theft, Possession of Break in Instruments and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was held in custody until court later that day.
THREATS, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON & POSSESSION OF WEAPON
Cornwall, ON- Andrew Merpaw, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on February 13th, 2013. It is alleged that on February 13th, 2013, he attended a 28-year-old male acquaintance’s residence and uttered threats to cause bodily harm to him while holding a club. The victim was not injured. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Utter Threats, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous purposes and Assault with Weapon. He was released to appear in court on March 26th, 2013.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 35-year-old Cornwall female was arrested on February 13th, 2013. It is alleged that on February 13th, 2013 she got into an altercation with her 42-year-old boyfriend when she assaulted him. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Domestic Assault and released to appear in court on March 26th, 2013. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this matter.
