Cornwall PoliceWARRANT

           

Cornwall, ON- A 40-year-old man of Khanawake, Quebec was arrested on March 11th, 2013 under the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged that on November 18th, 2011 he got into an altercation with his 39-year-old ex-girlfriend when he assaulted her, threaten her and chocked her. It is also alleged that in January 2012, he continuously harassed his 39-year-old ex-girlfriend and uttered threats. It is also alleged that he failed to attend court on January 11th, 2013. He was located in Montreal, Quebec and turned over to members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. He was held in custody until court the following day.  His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

Cornwall, ON- Davis Craig, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on March 12th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding Probation Office warrant. It is alleged that he failed to comply with his probation conditions being to report to the probation officer, pay restitution, complete community service hours and notify any change of address. He was located and released to appear in court on April 11th, 2013.

 

ASSAULT

           

Cornwall, ON- Janay Niles, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on March 11th, 2013. It is alleged that on February 2nd, 2013 while at a local establishment on Third Street she assaulted a 31-year-old female stranger. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Assault and released to appear in court on April 25th, 2013.

Further investigation revealed a second female was involved in the altercation. Brigitte Gareau, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on March 12th, 2013. She was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to be in her residence between 9:00 pm to 6:00 am, keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to be found where alcohol is sold. It is alleged that on February 2nd, 2013 she struck a 31-year-old female stranger with a pitcher and assaulted her. She was charged with Assault with a Weapon and 4 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.  She was held in custody until court later that day.

 

BREAK & ENTER

           

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred on March 11th, 2013 at a Lawrence Avenue residence. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed prescription medications and a sterling silver teapot. DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 48-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 12th, 2013. He was bound by 3 Probation Orders all with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  It is alleged that March 10th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 41-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her and threaten to cause damage to property. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault, Utter Threats and Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as it may identify the victim in this matter.

 

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON- A 26-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 12th, 2013. It is alleged that on March 12th, 2013 she got into an altercation with her37-year-old boyfriend when she caused damaged to property. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Domestic Mischief under $5000 and released to appear in court on April 25th, 2013. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this matter.

The S.A.V.E. Team would like to remind the public that ice on area lakes and rivers is melting. Other hazards that have been under deep snow may now be exposed. Drive with care.

Recent and upcoming warm temperatures will make ice conditions extremely hazardous. As the snow melts, other dangers are exposed.

No Ice is Safe Ice
• Ice Fishing, walking, and cross country skiing, all require at least 4” of New Clear Hard Ice
• One snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle, requires
at least 5” of New Clear Hard Ice.
• One vehicle, car or small pick-up, requires
at least 8” to 12” of New Clear Hard Ice.
• One vehicle, medium truck, requires,
at least 12” to 15” of New Clear Hard Ice.

Always, check the ice in several places before traveling onto it. Wear a FLOATATION SUIT and carry ICE PICKS. If you go onto the ice be prepared to get wet and cold and rescue yourself. Don’t endanger anyone else. If you’re travelling in a group, keep good spacing so that if one person goes into the water, the others don’t.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Assault/Racing Law Infraction 2013-03-12

(North Stormont) – On 11Mar13, at approximately 3:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an assault on Chapel Hill Road, North Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and a 38yr old male were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Assault

He is scheduled to appear 28Mar13 in Cornwall court.
