OPPOntario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Damaged Mail Boxes/Break and Enter/Domestic Incidents/Racing Law Infractions 2013-03-19

(South Stormont) – On 14Mar13, at approximately 9:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of mail boxes being damaged on Northfield Road, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that two male youths were observed damaging mail boxes on Northfield Road, a description of the vehicle was provided; police located the vehicle and occupants a short time later and arrested two male youths.

The youths aged 16-17yrs old (from South Stormont) face charges of:

– Mischief Under $5,000 x4

They are scheduled to appear 02May13 in Cornwall court.
THEFT

(North Dundas) – On 18Mar13, at approximately 1:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft on County Road 3, North Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a 54yr old female (Krystyna MERKLEY of North Dundas) had attempted to remove items from a business without paying for them.

She was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Theft Under SHOPLIFTING

She is scheduled to appear 07May13 in Morrisburg court.
TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST

(North Glengarry) – On 17Mar13, at approximately 2:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Main St. Alexandria, On.

The stop revealed that the 22yr old male passenger was breaching his earlier release conditions. Further investigation revealed that the 20yr old female driver (Hope VANDER HAEGHE) was in possession of an unauthorized weapon.

The male passenger was arrested and faces charges of:

– Breach of Probation x3
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance x3

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

The female was arrested and faces charges of:

– Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
– Breach of Probation Order

She is scheduled to appear 08May13 in Alexandria court.
CHARGES LAID

(South Glengarry) – On 17Mar13, at approximately 7:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.

The stop revealed that the male driver and one of his male passengers were breaching their earlier release conditions. Further investigation revealed that the males were in possession of break in instruments.

The driver and his two passengers were arrested and face charges of:

– Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance
– Possession Break in Instruments
– Obstruct resist Peace Officer

The three males aged 28yrs, 29yrs and 31yrs (from Quebec) were held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

BREAK AND ENTER

(North Glengarry) – On 16Mar13, at approximately 3:00am, SD&G OPP officer responded to a report of a break and enter on Spring St. Maxville, On.

The investigation revealed that a male had entered a residence and when confronted he left the scene. The 24yr old male (Samuel TRACE of North Stormont) was located and arrested a short time later.

He faces a charge of:

– Break, Enter dwelling house-commit indictable offence

He is scheduled to appear 08May13 in Alexandria court.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(South Glengarry) – On 17Mar13, at approximately 12:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on165th Ave, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that earlier in the day a female and her 20yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

The male was contacted by police and arrested. He faces charges of:

– Assault
– Breach of Probation Order

He is scheduled to appear 09Apr13 in Cornwall court.
(South Glengarry) – On 15Mar13, at approximately 11:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on County Road 25, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 20yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Assault Cause Bodily Harm
– Over Coming Resistance to Commit indictable Offence
– Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
– Forcible Confinement

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
BREAK AND ENTER

(South Dundas) – On 16Mar13, at approximately 10:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on County Road 2, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that unknown suspect(s) entered a business and removed an undisclosed amount of cash as well as various food items.

The investigation is ongoing.
