Train Crash Kills One – Cornwall Ontario Area Police Blotter for Friday May 24, 2013

(North Glengarry) – On 24May13, at approximately7:15am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a collision between a Via train and a pedestrian on Rolland Massie Road, North Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a Via train was eastbound when it struck an adult male that was on the tracks, the male suffered fatal injuries in the collision.

SD&G OPP officers assisted by the SD&G OPP Crime Unit have concluded that the death is non-suspicious in nature and have concluded their investigation.

The tracks were closed for approximately 4hrs due to the collision.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 23rd, 2013. He was bound by a Recognizance as well as an Undertaking with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on May 22nd, 2013, he got into an altercation with his 41-year-old wife when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was located and charged with Domestic Assault, Fail to comply with Recognizance and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Christopher Millington, 26 of Summerstown was arrested on May 23rd, 2013. It is alleged that on August 5th, 2010 he failed to attend for court and a bench warrant was issued. He turned himself in to police and was held in custody until court the following day.

 

THREATS, ASSAULT POLICE & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Kelly Allen, 49 of Cornwall was arrested on May 23rd, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. IT is alleged that on May 23rd, 2013 he threaten to harm the officers and cause damaged as well as assaulted two members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. The officers were not injured. He was charged with 2 counts of Utter Death Threats, 2 counts of Utter Threats to cause damage, 2 counts of Assault a Peace Officer and Breach of Probation Order.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 23rd, 2013. It is alleged that on May 21st, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 23-year-old fiancé when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON & BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- Angela Croskery, 47 of Cornwall was arrested on May 23rd, 2013. She was bound by a Probation Order and an Undertaking with the condition of  keep the peace and be of good behaviour and abstain from the purchase, possession, consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances. It is alleged that on May 23rd, 2013 while under the influence of alcohol, she got into an altercation with a 33-year-old neighbour when she spat on her and attempted to stick her with a pipe. The victim was not injured. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. She was held in custody until court the following day.

 

BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 23rd, 2013. He was bound by a Youth Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour, a curfew of 6pm to 6am, and not to associate with person with youth criminal record. It is alleged that at approximately 10:30 pm on May 23rd, 2013, he was found to be away from his residence and in the company of persons with a youth criminal records by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. He was charged with 3 counts of Breach of Probation Order and held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Cornwall, ON- A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 23rd, 2013. The youth was bound by two Recognizances with the conditions to reside at a certain address, abide by the rules and discipline of the residence, keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The youth was also bound by two Youth Probation Orders with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and reside only at an address approved by the provincial director or your youth worker, and comply with the routine and discipline of such residence. It is alleged that on May 20th, 2013 the youth left his residence without permission and failed to return. He was located and charged with 2 counts of Fail to comply with Recognizance and 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
