THEFT, DRUGS & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Two Cornwall people were arrested on May 24th, 2013. It is alleged that on May 24th, 2013 they attended a Second Street East store and removed property without making any attempts to pay for them. They were detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division.

Mary Sophrina Whiteford, 49 of Cornwall was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour, not to communicate with anyone known to you to have a criminal record, except for family members and not to communicate with anyone known to use or deal drugs. She was charged with Theft under $5000 and 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. She was released to appear in court on July 2nd, 2013.

Kevin Simser, 29 of Cornwall was bound by an Undertaking, Recognizance and a Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Upon his arrest he was found in possession of hydromorphone. He was charged with Theft under $5000, Possession of a controlled substance, 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF AND ESCAPE LAWFULL CUSTODY

            Cornwall, ON- A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 24th, 2013. It is alleged that on May 24th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 17-year-old girlfriend when he caused damaged to property. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. Upon his arrested he was found to be in possession of what was believed to be marijuana. While in custody he attempted to flee from police. He was charged with Domestic Mischief, Possession of a controlled substance and Escape Lawful Custody. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

BREACH

            Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 25th, 2013. The youth was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The youth was also bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and abide by a curfew 9:00 pm to 6:00 am unless escorted by a parent. It is alleged that shortly after 1:00 am on May 25th, 2013 she was found by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division to be away from her residence. The youth was charged with 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Breach of Probation Order. The youth was held in custody until court the following day. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Cornwall, ON- Krista Arial, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on May 25th, 2013. She was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to associate, contact or hold any communication directly or indirectly with Taylor Maxam. She was also bound by a Recognizance with the conditions to reside at a certain Cornwall address with your surety or at a residence approved by your surety and abide by the rules of that residence and notify the Cornwall Police Service within 24 hours of any change of address, in writing, Not to associate or communicate directly or indirectly with Taylor Maxam, Not to attend within 50 meters of Taylor Maxam’s residence or any place they may be at and Not to be away from your residence unless if with surety. It is alleged that on May 25th, 2013 she was found by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division to be with Taylor Maxam. She was charged with 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance and 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order.

Cornwall, ON- Taylor Maxam, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on May 25th, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the relevant conditions of notify Cornwall Police Service in writing within 24 hours of any change of address, employment or occupation, abstain from the communication directly or indirectly with Krista Arial or from going to their residences/places of employment/school and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was also bound by a Recognizance with the relevant conditions of reside at a specific address in Ottawa, ON and abide by the rules of that residence, not to associate or communicate directly or indirectly with  Krista Arial and not to associate with person known to you to have a criminal record or youth court record. It is alleged that on May 25th, 2013 he was found by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division to be in the company of Krista Arial. He was charged with 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and 3 counts of Fail to comply with Recognizance. He was held in custody until court the following day.

Cornwall, ON- Savannah Cousineau, 18 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2013. She was bound by a Recognizance with the conditions of keep the peac enad be of good behaviour and not to consume alcohol. It is alleged that she was located by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division while intoxicated. She was charged with 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance and held in custody until court the following day.

Cornwall, ON- Brittany Brilhante, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2013. She was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of not to consume alcohol and abide by a curfew of 11:00 pm to 6:00 am. It is alleged that on May 26th, 2013 she was found by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division to be under the influence of alcohol and provided police with a false name. She was charged with 2 counts of Fail to comply with Undertaking and Personation. She was held in custody until court the following day.

Cornwall, ON- Patrick Leroux, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to abstain from communicating directly or indirectly with an 18-year-old male and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on May 24th, 2013 he had contact with the said 18-year-old. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Fail to comply with Undertaking and released to appear in court on July 16th, 2013.

MISCHIEF, DRUGS, BREACHES & WEAPONS

Cornwall, ON- Two 18-year-old Cornwall me were arrested on May 25th, 2013. One of the men was bound by a Youth Criminal Justice Act Probation Order with the conditions of Abide by a curfew of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday to Thursday; abide by a curfew of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Friday toSaturday and keep the peace and be of good behaviour as well as not to possess any weapon. It is alleged that shortly after 2:00 am on May 25th, 2013 the males were found on Vincent Massey Drive area by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. Further investigation revealed that they were in possession of stolen property, tools and a knife. One of the males was charged with 2 counts of Failing to comply with a Youth Criminal Justice Act court order, Possession of property obtained by crime, Fail to comply with Undertaking, Possession go break in instruments, possession of weapon while prohibited, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon and Mischief under $5000. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The second 18-year-old Cornwall man, Nathan Arial, was arrested and charged with Mischief under $5000, possession of stolen property, possession of break in tools and Knowledge of Unauthorized possession of weapon. He was also found in possession of controlled substance believed to be marijuana and hydromorph which resulted in additional charges to 2 counts of Possession of Control Substance.

They were both held in custody until court the following day.

 

ROBBERY

 

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Robbery that occurred on May 24th, 2013 at a Water Street business. The suspect attended a jewelry store and removed and undisclosed amount of jewelry from a store employee. The man was described as a 25 to 30 year-old man, approximately 6 feet tall, medium built with a tanned complexion. He was wearing a grey baseball hat, white and grey sweater and dark pants. BREAK AND ENTER

 

            Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred on May 25th, 2013 at a Thirteenth Street East business. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed an undisclosed amount of prescription pills such as Oxycocet, Tyenol 3 and Sundoz Fentanyl patches. ASSAULT, MISCHIEF & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 25th, 2013. The youth was bound by two Probation Orders with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on May 25th, 2013 the youth got into an altercation with her 48-year-old mother when she caused damaged to property and assaulted her mother. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with Assault, Mischief under $5000 and Breach of Probation Order. The youth was held in custody until court the following day. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

THREATS & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Robert Cadieux, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order and an Undertaking with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on May 21st, 2013 he uttered a death threat to a 26-year-old man which had been employed for renovations. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Utter Death Threats, Breach of Probation Order and Fail to comply with Undertaking. He was released to appear in court on July 16th, 2013.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON- A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 27th, 2013. It is alleged that on May 25th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 19-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

ASSAULT POLICE AND RESIST ARREST

 

Cornwall, ON- A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 27th, 2013. It is alleged that on May 27th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend when he assaulted her and continued to follower her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. Upon his arrest, he assaulted a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division, resisted and uttered threats towards police. He was charged with 2 counts of Utter Death Threats, Domestic Assault, Assault a Police Officer, Resist Arrest and Criminal Harassment. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it may identify the victim.

Police are asking for the public’s help after they say two adults in a white van were spotted this weekend talking to youngsters and offering them puppies in Chesterville, Ont.

Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police said they received a suspicious persons complaint over the weekend but would not say when on the weekend or where in Chesterville the incident occured.

Police would also not reveal whether it was the parents of the children or witnesses who reported the incident.

But they said they are taking the report seriously.

Anyone who may have information about the white van is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

(South Dundas) – On 26May13, at approximately 8:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Levere Road, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that two males had taken a pick-up from a parking lot; the males were located a short distance away and arrested.

The males (38yrs and 39yrs both from Edwardsburgh Township) face charges of:

– Theft Under $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle
– Obstruct Resist Peace Officer
– Breach of Probation Order
– Theft Under Shoplifting
– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle

Both men were held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(North Stormont) – On 25May13, at approximately 2:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Centennial Drive, North Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 28yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male threatening the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Mischief Under $5,000
– Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance

He is scheduled to appear 18Jun13 in Cornwall court.
(South Dundas) – On 25May13, at approximately 9:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Ravenhurst Drive, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a male and his 43yr old wife were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the female assaulting the male.

She was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Assault
She is scheduled to appear 18Jun13 in Cornwall court.
(South Dundas) – On 25May13, at approximately 1:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Victoria Park, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a male and his 41yr old girlfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the female assaulting the male.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

– Aggravated Assault
– Mischief Under $5,000
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance

She was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
(South Stormont) – On 26May13, at approximately 4:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an unwanted person at a residence in Ingleside, On.

The investigation revealed that a male had attended a party and was assaulted. Police attended the area of the party and arrested an 18yr old male (Roger ROBIDOUX of Akwesasne, On) he faces charges of:

– Assault
– Assault Cause Bodily Harm

He is scheduled to appear 16July13 in Cornwall court.
STOLEN VEHICLE

(South Glengarry) – On 25May13, at approximately 11:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed the sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) attended a residence and removed a 2009 Polaris ATV (all-terrain vehicle) from a carport.

The investigation is ongoing.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Suspicious Person / Vehicle Complaint 2013-05-27

(North Dundas) – Over the weekend SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a suspicious person complaint involving a van in Chesterville, On.

The complaint consisted of two adults talking to youngsters and offering them puppies.

The OPP have taken this matter seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.

At this time, the SD&G OPP is looking to speak with anyone that may have any information involving a white van that was observed in the North Dundas area.
