BASF Canada has donated a total of $20,000 to eight local food banks as part of KeepFit, an employee wellness program. The KeepFit program encourages BASF Canada employees to improve their wellbeing through increased exercise and activity. Participants kept record of their accomplishments on-line by recording their steps and translating non-walking activities into distance covered. For every kilometer of exercise recorded during the campaign, the company donated $1 to local food banks in communities where it operates.
The following food banks each received a $2,500 contribution:
- Mississauga Food Bank, ON
- The Salvation Army Food Bank – High River, AB
- Food Bank and Learning Centre in Saskatoon, SK
- Regina Food Bank, SK
- Moisson Montréal, QC
- Smiths Falls Community Food Bank, ON
- Agape Centre Cornwall, ON
- Downtown Mission Windsor, ON
