Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 19th, 2014 and charged with two counts of assault and one count of mischief. It is alleged that on March 19th, 2014 the woman was involved in a verbal argument with her 28-year-old common law husband when she pushed him on two separate occasions and damaged a picture frame that belonged to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the woman was taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

THREATS, RESIST ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON – Evin Jarvis, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on March 19th, 2014 and charged with threats and resist arrest. It is alleged that on March 19th, 2014 while police were in investigating an unrelated matter at a Second Street West apartment the man threatened to knock police out. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle and charged accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and later released to appear in court on April 17th, 2014.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Tait, 60 of Cornwall was arrested on March 20th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that a warrant was issued for the arrest of the man for having driven while under suspension. On March 20th, 2014 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service assumed custody of the man from an OPP officer as they had taken the man into custody on the strength of the Cornwall warrant. As a result of the warrant the man was held in custody.

(South Dundas) – On 20Mar14, at approximately 3:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an erratic driver eastbound on Highway 401, South Dundas Township.

SD&G OPP officers located the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted, the 33yr old male driver (from Blainville, QC) was found to be operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood
– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
– Personating Peace Officer

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
