Kingston Police Service Seek Public Assistance Over Via Train Fatality JUNE 23, 2014

lornaTRAINCFN – Kingston Police are continuing to assist the local Coroner’s Office in the investigation of a fatality involving a pedestrian being struck by an eastbound VIA passenger train over the weekend.

 

On Sunday, June 22nd Kingston Police were called by CN Police, who advised of the incident that occurred at approximately 12:00 p.m. on the railway tracks just east of residences on outer Montreal St and south of Highway 401. The train was stopped for approximately five hours while the investigation continued, with service resuming shortly before 5:00 p.m.

 

Uniform Patrol members, a Forensic Identification officer and detectives attended the scene along with the coroner. At this point in the investigation the death is not believed to be suspicious in nature. The deceased is believed to be a Kingston area adult male but identity still needs to be confirmed through further investigation.

  2. Only one person knows if the accident was an accident or suicide. Unfortunately we can’t ask that person.
