Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Westport man was arrested on September 15th, 2014 and charged with mischief. It is alleged that on September 15th, 2014 during an argument with his 40-year-old girlfriend the man damaged a lamp and a window. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on October 7th, 2014. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
Cornwall, ON – Marie Doiron, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on September15th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on July 2nd, 2013 the woman failed to attend court for a driving offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On September 15th, 2014 members of the Cornwall Community Police Service assumed custody of the woman from Surete du Quebec as she was being held in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. She was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Haralabos Tassakos, 51 and Spiros Tassakos, 20 both of Cornwall were arrested on September 15th, 2014 and charged as follows:
Spiros: assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, threats and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace.
It is alleged that on September 15th, 2014 the two men attended a Brookdale Avenue apartment complex and confronted a 48-year-old man and a 22-year-old man. During the confrontation Spiros Tassakos was swinging a metal bar all the while threatening to kill the 22-year-old man. Haralabos Tassako then chased the 48-year-old man attempting to start a fight. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the two men were taken into custody and charged accordingly. Haralabos Tassakos was released to appear in court on October 14th, 2014 while Spiros Tassakos was held for a bail hearing.
(North Dundas) – On September 15, 2014 at approximately 8:15pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover collision on County Road 3, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that the adult male driver (lone occupant) was under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Martin CRANHAM (33) of North Dundas was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving Motor Vehicle While Impaired
– Driving Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on September 30, 2014.
(North Dundas) – On September 15, 2014 at approximately 9:13pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance at an establishment on Victoria Street in the Village of Chesterville, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an adult female patron was being aggressive and assaulted an employee and caused damage within the premises. Further information revealed she was bound by conditions from a previous incident.
Tanya SMITH (41) of North Dundas was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault with a Weapon (pool cue)
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (3 counts)
She was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 16, 2014.
TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN SEVERAL CHARGES
(South Stormont) – On September 15, 2014 at approximately 3:23pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an erratic driver on County Road 2, South Stormont Township. The vehicle was intercepted in the Village of Ingleside. The adult male driver initially provided officers with false identification. Upon obtaining true identity, further information revealed his driving privileges were disqualified and he was also in breach of a condition imposed from a previous incident.
Mohanaranjan NAVARATNAM (45) of Cornwall was arrested and is charged with;
– Drive While Disqualified (3 counts)
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest
– Fail to Comply with Probation
– Driving while Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 27, 2014.
