Trailer Thief Caught in North Glengarry OPP Blotter for FEB 17, 2015 #opp

OPPIMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Stormont) – On February 13, 2015 at approximately 4:29pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a single vehicle in the ditch on County Road 44, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that the adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol. Further information also revealed she was in contravention of conditions imposed from a previous incident.

Tania DRAGANJAC (31) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking (2 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

She was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (February 17, 2015).
ASSAULT

(North Stormont) – On February 13, 2015, SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of an assault which occurred on February 11, 2015 at a property on County Road 43, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that a male youth had assaulted a female youth.

On February 16, 2015 the 12-year-old male (from North Stormont Township) was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 12, 2015.
MAN ARRESTED WITH STOLEN TRAILER

(North Glengarry) – On February 15, 2015 at approximately 4:20pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft in progress of an enclosed trailer (containing assorted tools) from a property on County Road 24, North Glengarry Township. Police intercepted a pick-up truck pulling the trailer shortly thereafter.

The adult male driver, Ludger LACROIX (34) of Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Theft Over $5000

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on April 8, 2015.
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS

(South Stormont) – On February 7, 2015 SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of a domestic situation occurring at a residence on County Road 12, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that between 2007 and 2013, an adult male had assaulted his ex-spouse on several occasions.

On February 10, 2015 the 33-year-old male (from South Stormont Township) was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault – Spousal (3 counts)
– Break, Enter a Dwelling House – Commit Indictable Offence

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 3, 2015.
(South Dundas) – On February 15, 2015 at approximately 10:14pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation on County Road 1, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his spouse while traveling in a vehicle resulted in the male causing damage inside the vehicle.

On February 16, 2015, the 20-year-old male (from South Dundas Township) was arrested and is charged with;

– Mischief Under $5000

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 3, 2015.

CHARGE LAID IN FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION (update)

(South Glengarry) – Following an ongoing investigation, SD&G OPP have charged a man in connection with a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist, which occurred on September 25, 2014 at approximately 8:30am on County Road 25, South Glengarry Township.

A 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Denis PIETTE (42) of South Glengarry Township, was westbound on County Road 25 when it struck a westbound bicycle, operated by Francisco TERUEL (62) of South Glengarry. TERUEL suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and passenger in the vehicle were not injured.

On February 14, 2015 SD&G OPP charged PIETTE with;

– Careless Driving (Highway Traffic Act of Ontario)
