The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect responsible for latest bank robbery of 2015.
On March 18, 2015, at approximately 2:55 pm, a lone male suspect entered a bank situated along Marche Way, the new retail area adjacent to TD Place. The suspect produced a note making a demand for cash and indicating he had a gun. When bank personnel suggested to the suspect that he would not get what he was demanding, the suspect turned and walked out of the bank without incident. No weapon was seen and there were no injuries.
The Robbery Unit is today releasing quality images of the suspect. Additionally, investigators would like to speak to anyone that may have seen the suspect before or after the robbery.
The suspect is described as being a black male, slim build, early to mid 20’s, approximately 5″8′-6’1″(173 cm-185 cm), he had some “scruffy” facial hair, and was English speaking with a slight unidentified accent. At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a San Francisco 49ers tuque, blue jeans, and a black coat with a grey hooded shirt underneath (images attached.)
