Cornwall PoliceWARRANT, RESIST ARREST, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Cameron McBain, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on March 20th, 2015 on the strength of a witness warrant and charged with resist arrest, breach of undertaking and probation for failing to attend court and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that the man failed to attend court on March 20th, 2015 and a witness warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 20th, 2015 the man was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Community Police walking in the area of Alice Street and Second Street and after a brief foot chase the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

POSSESSION, POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE, PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

 

Cornwall, ON – Chad Niles, 25 and Cara-Lee Andre, 20 both of Cornwall were arrested on March 21st, 2015 and charged with possession of marijuana, possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana and property obtained by crime (cash). It is alleged that on March 21st, 2015 they were found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and cash when they were stopped at the port of entry. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 8th, 2015.

 

IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80

 

Cornwall, ON – Andrew Baxter, 19 of Uxbridge was arrested on March 21st, 2015 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of March 21st, 2015 the man was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Second Street West. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 2nd, 2015.

 

Cornwall, ON – James Amelotte, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on March 21st, 2015 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged that on March 21st, 2015 the man was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Marlborough Street and First Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

 

MISCHIEF, THEFT FROM MAIL

 

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 21st, 2015 and charged with mischief and theft from mail. It is alleged that on March 21st, 2015 the youth damaged a mail box at a Montreal Road address and removed some mail. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the youth was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

RESIST ARREST, ASSAULT POLICE

 

Cornwall, ON – Joey Latour, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on March 22nd, 2015 and charged with assault police and resist arrest. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of March 22nd, 2015 police attended a local bar for an unwanted person call. Once on scene the intoxicated man lunged at police and was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 30th, 2015.

 

ASSAULT, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

 

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 22nd, 2015 and charged with assault and possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of March 22nd, 2015 the woman slapped her 32-year-old boyfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the woman was taken into custody for the assault and was found to be in the possession of cocaine. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 16th, 2015. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
