  1. Boy, how things have changed. I remember on more than one occasion being slapped by my grandmother. Did I call the cops? Nope. That’s what’s wrong with society today. Parents cannot discipline their kids the way our parents did. The belt at home and strap at school taught respect. But now if you try that you get charged.

  2. I agree Hugger1 withe strap & belt, however,This grandmother should not be slapping his face, that to me is an insult & not a punishment. No charges should have been laid,This does not appear to be an assault unless there is more to this story than what appears here.

  3. darn I wish we had a correction here, ….with the strap & belt

  4. You are absolutely right Hugger another gold star up on the wall. Society today is gone to hell and no way to correct the evils that are going on. I will tell you something funny. When my daughter transferred from a bilingual school to a French school (not too far from here) she saw a display in the principal’s office of a dummy sitting at his desk and the strap nearby on the principal’s desk like what we went through as children. If only that kind of discipline existed today we would have more polite people and a hell of a lot less crime. We can’t even discipline our kids with a spanking on the behind but I sure did and my kids turned out pretty good. When we lived in Cornwall we had a great deal of problems with our son but when we left Cornwall and came to Ottawa he changed for the better and that is the truth. There is something about Cornwall where so many go wrong.

  5. I’m having issues with Jason Christoff’s company using fine print to {MODERATED} me for a closed account. I queried on facebook publicly in question form to avoid libel etc. about this practice. Waiting for response. Will let you know how it escalates.

  6. If the 15-year-old got punched by two senior citizens then he needed punching!

  7. Yes Stan. As a senior citizen myself, I should have the right to punch any teenager I want.

  8. As a parent of two adult children I went through the days of teenagers and what a job that was. The real handful was with my son and my daughter was a very good girl. Yes it is mighty tiring on the nerves and they sure deserve to get punched at times. Today there is no discipline at home nor in school and the society is in a tremendous mess today.
