Kingston Police is investigating the second homicide of 2015 after a 36 year-old local male succumbed to stabbing injuries in the area of Division Street and York Street.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday, September 28 both police and paramedics were called to the area where the victim was found outside with no vital signs. He was transported to hospital and later pronounced deceased. After speaking with family members Kingston Police is releasing the name of the homicide victim as being Mark Ian SEYMOUR. He was also sometimes known by others and on social media as Mark BRAMLEY.

Information was received that two male suspects were seen fleeing the area west on York Street. Basic descriptions of the pair are Caucasian, wearing dark clothing and estimated to be between 5’10” and 6’0” in height. A Canine Unit was dispatched to attempt a track of the area. A crime scene perimeter was established and York Street continues to be closed between Division Street to the east and Chatham Street to the west as detectives and forensic identification officers continue to search for evidence and canvass the neighbourhood. The building at the southwest corner of the intersection, 330 Division Street, is also an investigative scene. No arrests have been made at this time. York Street is anticipated to be re-opened in the afternoon.

Major Crime detectives are interested in speaking to any witnesses who may have seen or heard anything around the vicinity of Division Street and York Street before, during or after 11:30 p.m. on September 28. Additionally, any residents or business owners with video surveillance in that area are asked to check footage around that time frame and contact police if anything of interest is observed.

Lastly, residents in the area are asked to check their property and yards for anything suspicious, out of the ordinary or that wasn’t there the night before. Anything found should not be touched or moved. Instead, please contact Kingston Police immediately and officers will attend to verify if the item is of investigative interest and will be properly collected to ensure no evidence is disturbed or lost.
