Restauranter Charged With Pepper Spraying Employee in Cornwall Ontario – Police Blotter DEC 3, 2015 #CCPS

ADMINISTER NOXIOUS SUBSTANCE, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON,

 

Cornwall, ON – Mahammed Chughtai, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on December 2nd, 2015 and charged with assault with a weapon x6, administer noxious substance x 6 and possession of a prohibited weapon. It is alleged during an argument at a local restaurant on November 29th, 2015 the man sprayed a noxious substance (pepper spray) at an employee, contaminating five customers who were within the restaurant. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 2nd, 2015 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 5th, 2016.

DRIVE DISQUALIFIED

Cornwall, ON – Morgan Gray, 18 of Akwesasne was arrested on December 1st, 2015 and charged with drive disqualified. It is alleged the woman was operating a motor vehicle on October 26th, 2015 while under criminal code suspension when she was seen at the port of entry. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 1st, 2015 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 5th, 2016.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Shawna Mossop, 43 of Cornwall was arrested on December 1st, 2015 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on November 19th, 2015 the woman removed a radio from a Cornwall Square merchant and made no attempt to pay for the item as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 1st, 2015 the woman was located at a McConnell Street address, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 5th, 2016.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A -16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on December 1st, 2015 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation and undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on December 1st, 2015 the youth removed a winter jacket from a merchant at the Cornwall Square making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. The youth was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. The youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
