THEFT OVER $5000, BREACH OF TRUST

Cornwall, ON – A 68-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on December 7th, 2015 and charged with theft over $5000 and breach of trust. It is alleged the woman accessed funds from her son’s account and police were contacted to investigate. On December 7th, 2015 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 5th, 2015. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF, ASSAULT, CAUSE DISTURBANCE, ASSAULT POLICE

Cornwall, ON – Jeremy Labelle, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on December 7th, 2015 and charged with assault, mischief, assault police and cause disturbance. It is alleged while at the hospital on December 7th, 2015 the man damaged hospital property, assaulted a security guard, a staff member and spat on a police officer. The man was taken into custody at the hospital, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing

IMPAIRED DRIVERS CHARGED

(North Dundas) – On December 5, 2015 at approximately 9:53pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 7, North Dundas Township. A check of the female driver revealed she was under the influence of alcohol.

Danielle BOYER (59) of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Driving While Disqualified
– Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on January 5, 2016.
(North Stormont) – On December 6, 2015 at approximately 1:42am, SD&G OPP officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 12, North Stormont Township. A check of the male driver revealed he was under the influence of alcohol.

Denis DESCHAMPS (34) of North Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on December 22, 2015.
(North Glengarry) – On December 6, 2015 at approximately 12:03pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on Main Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his ex-spouse resulted in a female being threatened. The accused then drove his vehicle in a dangerous manner as he left the area.

At approximately 3:16pm, officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving the accused on Lochiel Street in Alexandria. The vehicle had left the scene but was intercepted by police on Dominion Street. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. As officers took the accused in custody, he became resistant. A male teen passenger in the vehicle also became aggressive and assaulted officers.

A 46-year-old male from North Glengarry Township is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle (2 counts)
– Utter Threats to Damage Property
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)
– Resist Peace Officer
– Criminal Harassment – Threatening Conduct
– Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident
– Mischief Under $5000
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking (6 counts)

The 18-year-old male passenger from North Glengarry Township is charged with;

– Assault a Peace Officer
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Fail to Comply with a Recognizance

Both were held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (December 7, 2015). The names of the accused are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

DOMESTIC ASSAULTS

(South Dundas) – On December 4, 2015 at approximately 11:57pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a domestic situation at a residence on Oak Valley Road, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his common-law spouse resulted in both assaulting each other. The male also caused damage to a cell phone belonging to the female.

Matthew CLARKE (42) and Kiley MCLENNAN (37), both of South Dundas Township, were arrested and each charged with;

– Assault – Spousal

CLARKE faces an additional charge of;

– Mischief Under $5000
Both were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on January 12, 2016.

THEFTS

(South Stormont) – Overnight (December 3-4, 2015) a vehicle was entered while parked at a property on Saunders Avenue, South Stormont Township. Inside, hockey equipment (stick/helmet), sunglasses and cash were removed.
(North Dundas) – On December 4, 2015 between 11:00am and 12:30pm, a residence was forcibly entered on Fred Street, North Dundas Township. Substantial damage was caused within the home.
(South Glengarry) – Overnight (December 3-4, 2015) two (2) used industrial deep fryers were taken from a property (Royal Canadian Legion) on Military Road, South Glengarry Township.

Investigations continue in the above incidents.

DAMAGE TO MAILBOXES

(North Stormont) – Overnight (December 4-5, 2015) several mailboxes were purposely damaged on County Road 13, North Stormont Township.

(North Glengarry) – Overnight (December 5-6, 2015) a mailbox was damaged on Dornie Road, North Glengarry Township. Culprit(s) unearthed a metal can containing the mailbox and post and discarded same in the ditch.

Investigations continue in the above incidents.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Glengarry) – On December 4, 2015 at approximately 2:41am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Kraft Road, South Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed that an altercation between an adult male and his girlfriend resulted in the female being assaulted. The accused also caused damage within the home.

The 37-year-old male from Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault – Spousal
– Mischief – Domestic

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on January 12, 2016. His name was not released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
