Car Chase Leads to Arrest in Cornwall Ontario – Police Blotter JAN 12, 2016 CCPS

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 8th, 2016 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged on January 5th, 2016 the man communicated with his 41-year-old ex-girlfriend despite having been warned by police not to communicate with her. On January 8th, 2016 the man was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Dalton White, 18 of Hogansburg was arrested on January 8th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend for prints on December 21st, 2015 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 8th, 2016 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the port of entry as the man was being held on Cornwall’s warrant. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – Matthew Clark, 22 of Ottawa was arrested on January 8th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on January 6th, 2016 for an assault charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 8th, 2016 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended Ottawa as Ottawa Police Service had the man in custody on Cornwall’s warrant. He was transported to Cornwall and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Angel Dore, 38 of Cornwall was arrested on January 8th, 2016 for breaching her conditional sentence order. It is alleged on January 5th, 2016 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended her residence to check on compliance and found the woman to be in breach of her conditions by not being at home. On January 8th, 2016 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – Justin Square, 19 of Hogansburg was arrested on January 9th, 2016 and charged with breaching his recognizance for having consumed alcohol. It is alleged on January 9th, 2016 police attended the area of the 600 block of Walton Street for a disturbance and found the intoxicated man in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kelly Lalonde, 42 of Cornwall was arrested on January 9th, 2016 and charged with break and enter and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man forced his way into a Pitt Street restaurant in the early morning hours of January 9th, 2016 and police were contacted to investigate. The man was located by police at the restaurant, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT POLICE

Cornwall, ON – Robert Duval, 56 of Cornwall was arrested on January 9th, 2016 and charged with two counts of assault police. It is alleged while investigation an unwanted person complaint at a Second Street West address on January 9th, 2016 police were pushed by the intoxicated man. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – John Cook, 60 was arrested on January 10th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation and undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 9th, 2016 the man removed three chairs from the lobby of his apartment building and police were contacted to investigate. On January 10th, 2016 the man was located at his apartment, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

FRAUD

Cornwall, ON – Sumera Idress, 39 of Cornwall was arrested on January 10th, 2016 and charged with 8 counts of fraud under $5000. It is alleged during the months of October and November, 2015 the woman deposited empty envelopes at several banks in the city of Cornwall and withdrew cash. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 10th, 2016 the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 16th, 2016.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Ashley Robillard, 27of Ottawa was arrested on January 10th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the Cornwall Community Police Service obtained a warrant for the arrest of the woman for her involvement in the theft of jewellery from a Cornwall Square merchant in April, 2015. On January 10th, 2016 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Ian Clark, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on January 11th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 11th, 2016 the man attended a Second Street West store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Kirkland Terriah, 18 of Cornwall was arrested on January 11th, 2016 and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged during an argument on January 11th, 2016 the man pointed a knife at a 36-year-old man known to him. He was taken into custody by a CBSA officer who was in the area for an unrelated matter police were contacted. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE, FLIGHT FROM POLICE, DANGEROUS OPERATION, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, DRIVE DISQUALIFIED, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Gerald Poistras, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on January 11th, 2016 and charged with theft of motor vehicle, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, drive disqualified, possession of property obtained by crime and breach probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 11th, 2016 the man fled from police in a stolen vehicle after being spotted in the area of Marlborough Street and Victoria Avenue. He then drove the vehicle in a dangerous manner striking another vehicle on Gloucester Street forcing that vehicle to strike a porch on Gloucester Street. The man then fled on foot and was taken into custody a short distance away. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
