CHARGES LAID IN FATAL COLLISION (update)
(North Dundas) – As a result of an ongoing investigation into a fatal collision, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an involved adult male driver.
On August 13, 2015 at approximately 8:05pm, officers responded to a report of a fatal crash on Belmeade Road, North Dundas Township. A motorcycle, driven by an adult female, Shea LAUGHLIN (24) and passenger Marc SABOURIN (31) both of Osgoode, Ontario were eastbound on Belmeade Road when a westbound van entered the eastbound lane and collided with the motorcycle. Both occupants of the motorcycle were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the van, Yousef ROMAIZAN (41) of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death (2 counts)
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on April 5, 2016. He was not injured.
