From now until May 1st, we are collecting used items (clothing, books, household items, linens, etc.) to raise money for Camp Ten Oaks. To end the donation drive, we will be holding a spaghetti dinner at the Army Navy (14 Marlborough). Tickets are $10, and include spaghetti, bun, Caesar salad, dessert, and coffee, tea or juice. The meal will be from 5-7pm, followed by a silent auction and door prize draw, as well as a dance & karaoke with TLC karaoke and DJ. Please bring a donation of used clothing or household items to the event to get your raffle ticket!!
If you are unable to attend the spaghetti dinner but have items you would like to donate, you can do so at any time between now and May 1st. Tickets to the event are available at the Army Navy at 14 Marlborough, as well as through the event organizer.
To donate used items, or to buy tickets, please contact Liz Quenville on Facebook, by phone at 613-551-9233, or by email at email@example.com
Camp Ten Oaks is a one-week, sleep-away camp for children and youth ages 8-17 from LGBTQ+ families and communities.
Camp Ten Oaks is the first and only summer camp of its kind in Canada. We offer children a space where they can feel not only accepted, but celebrated. For many campers, our program is the cornerstone of their year.
Programming variety allows campers to receive instruction, strengthen old skills and develop new ones with the option to participate in outdoor adventure, waterfront, arts, social justice activities and sports. We empower children and youth through play that enhances self-esteem, life skills, independence, leadership and self-confidence.
Camp Ten Oaks is an accredited member of the Ontario Camps Association.
I would encourage all devout Pastafarians and others to support this worthy cause, and at the same time, enjoy a repast blessed by The Flying Spaghetti Monster.
