SD&G #opp Round Up for APRIL 4, 2016

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Dundas) – On April 3, 2016 at approximately 2:38am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his spouse resulted in the female being assaulted and damage caused within the home. Officers also observed firearms at the residence improperly stored.

A 32-year-old from South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault
– Mischief Under $5000
– Careless Storage of Firearm
– Breach of Firearm Regulation

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 19, 2016. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(South Glengarry) – On April 1, 2016 at approximately 10:59pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to report of a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. A check of an adult male occupant revealed he was in contravention of conditions (abstain from possession of alcohol/remain at residence) imposed from previous incident.

Stephane BRUNET (39) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Breach if Conditional Sentence Order (2 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (April 4, 2016).
(South Dundas) – On April 3, 2016 at approximately 12:08pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an adult male in contravention  of conditions (abstain for possession of computer items/keep the peace) imposed from previous incidents.

The 33-year-old male from South Dundas Township was arrested and is char ged with;

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (April 4, 2016). His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim involved in one of the previous incidents.

BREAK-IN & THEFT

(North Dundas) – On April 4, 2016 at approximately 3:08am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break-in at a commercial property (Rick’s Gas Bar) on County Road 3, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that two (2) males forcibly entered the building and removed a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol. Both are described (via security camera) as white males wearing light coloured clothing, black gloves and masks. One suspect had a thin build, the other larger.

An investigation continues.
