Additional charges of Sexual assault laid against former teacher
(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section has laid further charges following an ongoing investigation with more allegations of sexual assault.
Four victims have come forward in response to an Ottawa Police news release issued in June 2016 regarding Sexual Assault charges against Robert CLARKE.
Investigators looked into incidents that occurred between 1973 to 1992, while he was in the course of his duties, as a teacher.
Robert CLARKE, 72 years old of Morrisburg, Ontario is facing charges of:
- Gross Indecency x 4
- Sexual Assault x 2
- Sexual Exploitation x 1
He will appear in court on August 22, 2016.
Investigators are concerned there could be more victims. The investigation continues.
“The Ottawa Police will respect a victim’s wishes to pursue or not pursue the matter before the courts,” said Staff Sergeant Angela McDade, SACA. “The reporting of these incidents by victims to police is key for investigators to identify suspects and determine crime trends.”
