DRUGS SEIZED
(South Dundas) – On August 04, 2016 at approximately 3:54 am, Stormont Dundas & Glengarry OPP officers responded to a report of a suspicious male on Highway 401, South Dundas Township at the En-route Service Station. The officers located the male in his vehicle and the interaction resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected Heroin.
The driver, Mirahmad SHIRAZI (63) of Montreal, Quebec was arrested and charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Care or Control While Impaired (Drugs)
The male was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on October 1, 2016.
BREAK-IN
(North Dundas) – On August 2, 2016, SD&G officers responded to report of a Break-in at a residence sometime between July 24, 2016 and July 30, 2016, a shed was entered at a property on Parkhill Crescent, South Glengarry Township. Several power tools and lawn trimmers were taken.
An investigation continues.
EXCESSIVE SPEEDS
(North Dundas) – On August 3, 2016, SD&G OPP officers conducting speed measuring enforcement in Stormont and Dundas Counties intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds.
The stop resulted in the vehicle being impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.
– August 3, 2016 – 6:44 am (County Road 43, North Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 160km/h (80km/h zone). Male driver (17) from Edwardsburgh Township, Ontario charged accordingly.
CHARGES LAID RELATING TO BREAK IN
(South Stormont) – On August 1, 2015 at approximately 2:31 pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of several break-ins in Long Sault, South Stormont Township.
Investigation indicated that culprits forcibly entered several residences and vehicles. The culprits removed several items.
SD&G OPP Officers arrested two males in connection with the break-ins a short time after it was reported.
Visuvvek THURAIRAJAH (18) of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Break and Enter (3 counts)
– Theft Under $5000 from a Motor Vehicle (2 counts
– Possession of a controlled Substance
A 17-year-old male of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and charged with;
– Break and Enter (3 counts)
– Theft Under $5000 from a Motor Vehicle (2 counts)
Both males were held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
