Pellet Gun Lands Man With Charges in Cornwall Ontario AUG 16, 2016

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 12th, 2016 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged on August 12th, 2016 the man followed his ex-common-law wife in his car and attempted to communicate with her despite having been warned by police not to have any contact with her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 12th, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

POINTING A FIREARM, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

 

Cornwall, ON – Noel Longchamps, 28 of Long Sault was arrested on August 12th, 2016 and charged with pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged on May 14th, 2016 while in the area of the RCAF boat launch the man pointed a pellet hand gun at another man and police were contacted to investigate. On August 12th, 2016 the man was stopped by OPP in the village of Morrisburg and turned over to members of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Jenny Kimmett, 36 of Deseronto was arrested on August 14th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of three probation orders for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 14th, 2016 the woman removed merchandise from a Ninth Street store making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. She was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
