(LEEDS, ON.) – Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation into a collision that resulted in a road closure.
On the 14th of September 2016 at about 5:30 AM O.P.P officers were called to a collision on westbound Highway 401 about 3 km west of Reynolds Road in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a westbound tractor trailer struck a stationary safety truck. Several area fire departments responded to the scene as upon impact the tractor trailer caught on fire.
Both the east and westbound lanes remain closed pending further investigation.
The investigation continues.
