Ottawa man charged with Human Trafficking and Child Luring
(Ottawa)—On Monday, October 10, 2106 the Ottawa Police Human Trafficking Unit arrested and charged Cameron LYONS, 37 years old of Ottawa.
He is accused of initiating conversations over Facebook with three female youths – two 14 year olds and one 16 year old – and using false identities on Facebook, posing as a talent agent for a false company to lure the females. The conversation would turn from modeling to the request to provide sexual services for money at parties and events.
The first victim came forward in 2015 and an investigation began.
Investigators believe that other females may have been contacted over the last several years. Anyone that had contact with Cameron LYONS or social media accounts using the names Joe Howorth, Steve DeBone or VIP Entertainment is urged to contact the Ottawa Police Human Trafficking Unit.
Cameron LYONS was charged with the following offences:
- 3 counts of Trafficking in persons, under 18
- 3 counts of Child luring
- 2 counts of Procuring person to provide sexual services, under 18
He was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.
