New charges laid against local teacher for sex-related offences
(Ottawa) — Today, the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section (SACA) laid additional charges including 17 counts of Indecent Assault, 17 counts of Gross Indecency and 1 count of Intimidation against Donald GREENHAM, 73 years old, of Addison, Ontario, in relation to complaints from seven new victims.
The charges stem from incidents that occurred between 1971 and 1981, while the accused was employed as a teacher and coach with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. The victims range in age from 13-18 years of age.
He will appear in court on November 22, 2016.
The Ottawa Police continue their investigation and are concerned there could be more victims. On August 22, 2016, SACA charged GREENHAM with 14 criminal offences.
“The Ottawa Police will respect a victim’s wishes to pursue or not pursue the matter before the courts,” said Staff Sergeant Angela McDade, SACA. “The reporting of these incidents by victims to police is key for investigators to identify suspects and determine crime trends.”
