14 Year Old Charged After Stapler Attack in Cornwall NOV 14, 2016

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 29 year old Cornwall man was arrested on November 8, 2016. He is currently bound by a Probation Order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on this date he engaged in a verbal argument with his common-law wife inside their residence which escalated to him causing damage to some of their furniture. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. The man was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Mischief and Breach of Probation. He was held for a Bail Hearing. His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

DRUGS

Cornwall, ON – Jean Tyo, age 69, of Cornwall, was arrested on November 8, 2016. As a result of an extensive investigation by the Cornwall Community Police Service’s Street Crime Unit, she was taken into custody for trafficking hydromorphone. She was subsequently charged with 3 counts of Drug Trafficking and 3 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000. A quantity of hydromorphone and Canadian currency were seized. She was released to appear in court on December 20, 2016.

Cornwall, ON – Melissa Chaisson, age 31, of Cornwall, and Megan Pruner, age 23, of Cornwall, were arrested on November 10, 2016. Megan Pruner is bound by a Probation Order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. As a result of a search warrant executed at the women’s residences by the Cornwall Community Police Service’s Street Crime Unit, a quantity of pills believed to be methamphetamine, a quantity of a substance believed to be marihuana, and a quantity of a substance believed to psilocybin (magic mushrooms) were seized. The women were taken into custody and charged with Drug Possession. Megan Pruner was also charged with Breach of Probation. They were released to appear in court on December 20, 2016.

Jessy Geneau-Ouellette, age 19, of no fixed address, was arrested on November 9, 2016. It is alleged that on this date he was involved in a motor vehicle collision on Eleventh Street East and attempted to flee the area prior to police arrival. An independent witness intercepted the man. Police attended and an investigation was conducted. The man was taken into custody and a search subsequent to arrest revealed a quantity of a substance believed to be marihuana, a quantity of pills believed to be ecstasy, and a quantity of a substance believed to be MDMA (Molly). Further investigation revealed that the motor vehicle the man was operating was reported stolen from New Brunswick. As a result, he was charged with 3 counts of Drug Possession, Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000. He was held for a Bail Hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON AND ASSAULT POLICE

Cornwall, ON – A 14 year old Glen Robertson young person was arrested on November 10, 2016. It is alleged that on this date, at a local high school, he assaulted a staff member by choking her. He assaulted another staff member by grabbing him and trying to assault him with a stapler. He also threatened to blow up the school. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. The young person resisted arrest by pulling away, kicking, biting and spitting at police. He was taken into custody and charged with, 2 counts of Assault, 2 counts of Assault Police, Resist Arrest, Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats to Damage Property, and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. He was released to appear in court on December 8, 2016. The young person’s name is not being released as per provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The victims suffered minor injuries as a result of the assaults.
