LEEDS COUNTY O.P.P. ARREST MAN STUNT DRIVING AND ASSAULT

 

(BROCKVILLE, ON) – Leeds County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P), arrested a man on Hwy 401 in Elizabethtown Township for Stunt Driving and Assaulting a Peace Officer.

On the 25th of November 2016 at around 8 p.m. an O.P.P officer observed a red Jeep Compass travelling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Hwy 401.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on the Jeep and during the investigation the male driver resisted arrest and assaulted the O.P.P. officer at the scene.

Ronald BONNENFANT, 53 yrs old of Kingston has been charged with Assault Peace Officer, and Resist Peace Officer, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, as well as Drive while under suspension and Stunt Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and Driving with Open Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor License Act.

The accused has been released from custody and is to appear on the 6th of January 2016 at Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville, ON.
