Hoodie Thefts in Cornwall – Police Blotter for NOVEMBER 30, 2016

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Wayne Bigtree, 57 of Cornwall was arrested on November 29th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on November 21st, 2016 for drug offences and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On November 29th, 2016 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service assumed custody of the man from Akwesasne Police as the man had been taken into custody by Akwesasne Police on an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and he remained in custody for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Scottie Brownell-Lauzon, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on November 29th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on November 29th, 2016 the man entered a Brookdale Avenue store and removed a quantity of hoodies making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and took the man into custody after a brief foot chase. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.
