Vincent Morin Charged in Cornwall Guitar Assault & Stiffing Cabbie JAN 4, 2016

DRIVE DISQUALIFIED, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Shawn Leaf, 41 of Cornwall was arrested on December 30th, 2016 and charged with mischief and drive disqualified X 4. It is alleged on November 18th, 2016 the man drove a vehicle through closed gates at the Port of Entry causing them to break. Police were contacted and during the investigation it was learned the man was disqualified from driving X4. On December 30th, 2016 the man was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 9th, 2017.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, MISCHIEF, TRANSPORTATION FRAUD, BEING INTOXICATED IN A PUBLIC PLACE

Cornwall, ON – Vincent Morin, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on December 31st, 2016 and charged with assault with a weapon, mischief, transportation fraud and being intoxicated in a public place. It is alleged in the early morning hours of December 31st, 2016 the struck a woman with a guitar and failed to pay for his taxi fair. Police were contacted and located the intoxicated man in the area. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, OBSTRUCT POLICE, ASSAULT POLICE, RESIST ARREST

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old woman and a 25-year-old woman both from Cornwall were arrested on January 1st, 2017 and charged with obstruct police, resist arrest and assault police. The 24-year-old woman was also charged with assault on her boyfriend. It is alleged while on patrol in the early morning hours of January 1st, 2017 police witnessed the 24-year-old woman assaulting her 24-year-old boyfriend in the area of Pit Street and Fourteenth Street. While being taken into custody she punched an officer and resisted arrest. A 25-year-old woman attempted to intervene and kicked an Auxiliary Constable. Both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Martine Malette, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on January 1st, 2017 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Pitt Street and Third Street in the early morning hours of January 1st, 2017. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Comer, 42 of Long Sault was arrested on January 2nd, 2017 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Second Street and York Street on January 2nd, 2017. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

Cornwall, ON – George Jacobs, 47 of Akwesasne was arrested on January 3rd, 2017 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged in the early morning hours of January 3rd, 2017 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Montreal Road and Belmont Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Carla Delormiere, 51 of Akwesasne was arrested on January 3rd, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on January 3rd, 2017 the woman attended a Ninth Street Store and selected several items making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. She was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 2nd, 2017.

MISCHIEF, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 3rd, 2017 and charged with threats, mischief and breach of probation and undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on December 25th, 2016 the man damaged a door and threatened his girlfriend with a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 3rd, 2017 the man was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
