Calls for Service
Kingston Police had 126 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on June 5, 2017. Of these, 79 calls occurred in the city central area, 27 in the west end, 6 in the east end, and 1 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

- 3 assault calls
- 3 sexual assaults
- 3 harassment calls
- 3 fight/disturbance calls
- 4 undesirable calls
- 1 customer trouble call
- 2 alarm calls
- 1 neighbour dispute call
- 1 noise complaint
- 1 trouble with kids call
- 3 missing person calls
- 8 Mental Health Act calls
- 18 assist citizen calls
- 1 break and enter call
- 9 theft calls
- 3 mischief calls
- 2 fraud calls
- 2 motor vehicle collisions
- 1 impaired driving call
- 2 parking/vehicle complaints
- 3 driving complaints
- 1 traffic concern
- 11 suspicious activity calls
- 1 trespass/prowler call
There were 3 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 1 man and 2 women, between 15 and 46 years of age, for the following: theft under $5000, mischief under $5000, mischief endangering life, theft under $5000, and breach of recognizance. One person was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Youth Charged with Endangering Life after Mixing Chemicals
A 15-year-old local youth is facing charges for endangering life after mixing hazardous chemicals in an apartment building.
On June 4, 2017 the accused was visiting family at an apartment on Sir John A. MacDonald Boulevard. At approximately 5:00 p.m. the accused ignored his court order condition and left the residence without a parent. The accused went to the basement garbage disposal room with trash and recycling. While in the basement the accused went into a storage room and mixed several cleaners and solutions on the floor, creating a biohazard mess. The accused is seen on surveillance video leaving the room with smoke billowing out. The fire department had to respond and due to the hazardous conditions created by mixing chemicals a professional cleaning company was required.
On June 5, 2017 police were contacted and after a short investigation the identity of the accused was determined. At approximately 4:30 p.m. the accused attended police headquarters with his parents and was arrested.
The accused was held to attend a bail hearing the following day. The accused was charged with mischief endangering life, theft under $5000, and breach of recognizance.
