ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – Aaron Collins, age 29, of Cornwall, was arrested on June 28, 2017. It is alleged that on this date he engaged in a text message argument with two individuals who were known to him. The argument escalated when he attended a residence they were visiting and confronted them. He pushed the one individual, knocking him over, and then struck him in the head with a metal object. The other individual stepped in to prevent the assault from continuing and was struck in the arm and head with the metal object, then pushed aside. The home owner intervened and directed Mr. Collins to leave, and he did. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. He was subsequently charged with 2 counts of Assault and 2 counts of Assault with a weapon. He was released to appear in court on August 10, 2017. There were minor injuries as a result of the assaults.
THREATS AND ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – Sarina Gonsalves, age 39, of Cornwall, was arrested on June 26, 2017. It is alleged that on this date she approached a neighbour wanting to talk. The neighbour declined to speak with her. Ms Gonsalves produced a knife and moved toward her neighbour threatening to stab her. Another neighbour intervened to assist and she fled the area returning to her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. She was subsequently charged with Assault with a weapon, Possession of a dangerous weapon, and 2 counts of Threats. She was held for a Bail Hearing. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
