A joint effort from Gatineau and Ottawa Guns and Gangs Unit
(Ottawa) –On Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at approximately 11:00, the Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit conducted a search warrant on a home in the 800 block of Canterbury Avenue. The warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation with Gatineau and Ottawa Guns and Gangs Investigators.
During the search, items seized were:
- A loaded handgun
- A large quantity of cocaine (approximately 700 grams – Street value of $70,000)
- Ammunition
- Canadian Currency
Adam Kojo ALIDU (male), 33 of Ottawa and Gelisa FRASER (female), 29 of Ottawa are both facing charges of:
- Use / Handle / Store firearm, etc. carelessly
- Possession of a weapon, etc. / Dangerous to public peace
- Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence and registration certificate
- Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence and registration certificate
- Possession of a loaded regulated firearm
- Possession Schedule I substance for trafficking x 2
- Possession of property or thing obtained by crime / not exceeding $5000
ALIDU is also charged with:
- Possession of a firearm, etc, while prohibited x 2
ALIDU and FRASER will be in court on Thursday, November 23, 2017.
