ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, OVERCOME RESISTANCE, THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 19th, 2018 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, threats and overcome resistance (choking). It is alleged during an argument on January 19th, 2018 the man assaulted his girlfriend, threw boots at her, choked her and threatened to harm her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
BREACH, ASSAULT, BREAK AND ENTER, THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 19th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to notify a change of address. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the month of January, 2018 the man failed to notify a change of address and an investigation ensued. On January 19th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. On January 20th, 2018 the man entered his ex-wife’s residence without permission, breaching a recognizance for communicating with her and causing her to fear for her safety. The man then threatened and assaulted an occupant in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Jason Keeler, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on January 19th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged in July, 2015 the man threatened another man known to him with a knife and police obtained a warrant for his arrest. On January 19th, 2018 while attending a Louisa Street address for an unrelated matter, the man was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on February 13th, 2018.
Cornwall, ON – A 57-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 20th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on December 24th, 2017 the man threatened his ex-girlfriend with a knife and prevented her from leaving the residence. Police were contacted and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. On January 20th, 2018 the man was located by police, taken into custody and released to appear in court on February 15th, 2018. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
THEFT, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old and 16-year-old Cornwall youth were arrested on January 20th, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000. The 16-year-old was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon (knife) and breach of probation for carrying a weapon and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 20th, 2018 the two youths attended a Seventh Street store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. Police were contacted and located the two youths a shorts distance away. They were taken into custody and the 16-year-old was found to be in possession of a knife despite his conditions. Both were charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 21st, 2018 and charged with Assault X2, break and enter, weapons dangerous, assault with the weapon and breach of probation X 3 for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during arguments on January 20th, 2018 and January 21st, 2018 the man entered his girlfriend’s residence without permission, assaulted her and prevented her from leaving the residence. It is also alleged the man also chased the woman all the while brandishing a knife. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Amanda Poirier, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on January 21st, 2018 on the strength of existing warrants. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on two occasions and warrants were issued for her arrest. On January 21st, 2018 while investigating another matter, the woman was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and held for a bail hearing.
