Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for Friday January 26, 2018 #CCPS

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man both from Cornwall were arrested on January 25th, 2018 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument on January 21st, 2018 the husband and wife assaulted each other and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 20th, 2018. Their names were not released as it would also identify them as victims.

IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Bernard McPhail, 52 of Lunenburg was arrested on January 25th, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on January 25th, 2018 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol while in the area of Second Street and Amelia Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 13th, 2018.



PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, THEFT UNDER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Chantal Turcotte, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on January 25th, 2018 and charged with possession of property obtained by crime, unlawful use of a credit card, theft under $5000 X3 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 1st, 2018 the woman took a banking card from someone she knows without permission her permission and made several transactions within the city. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 25th, 2018 the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 15th, 2018.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Rachel Oakes, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on January 26th, 2018 and charged with possession of cocaine and breach of recognizance for being in possession of illegal drugs. It is alleged in the early morning hours of January 26th, 2018 the woman was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine when she was stopped at the Port of Entry. Police were contacted and took the woman into custody. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

There were 53 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in the last 24 hours (8am the previous day to 8am the day of the release).
