Mean Girl Steals Bike & Assaults Youth in Cornwall Ontario #CCPS Police Blotter 062718

THEFT UNDER $5000, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 26th, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000 and assault. It is alleged on May 30th, 2018 the youth took a bicycle that did not belong to her from a Ninth Street business. It is further alleged on June 18th, 2018 the youth assaulted another youth who was known to her and police were contacted to investigate. On June 26th, 2018 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the youth was in custody on an unrelated matter. She was charged accordingly and remained in custody pending a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH, OBSTRUCT JUSTICE, INTIMIDATION, EXTORTION

Cornwall, ON – Curtis Hutt, 35, of Morrisburg was arrested on June 26th, 2018 and charged with break and enter, obstruct justice, intimidation, extortion, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 22nd, 2018, the man entered the residence of a woman known to him and removed property without her permission. It is further alleged on June 26th, 2018, the man made threats to not return her property if police were involved. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 26th, 2018 he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.




POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Omar Richards, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on June 26th, 2018 and charged with possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, as well as breach of probation for being in possession of drugs and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 26th, 2018, a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service observed the man to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and crack cocaine and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 31st, 2018.

WARRANT, BREACH, FAIL TO ATTEND PRINTS

Cornwall, ON – Mathieu Legault, 32, of Cornwall was arrested on June 26th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. He was also charged with failing to appear for prints and breach of probation and undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man breached his probation order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. It is further alleged on June 25th, 2018, the man failed to attend police headquarters for prints and an investigation ensued. On June 26th, 2018 the man was located by police. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
