Busy Weekend for the Cornwall Community Police Service 071018 #CCPS

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 6th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for contacting his ex-girlfriend and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 26th, 2018 the man sent text messages to his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted. On July 6th, 2018 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 6th, 2018 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon x 2, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on July 6th, 2018 the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend. The man also allegedly struck her with a picture frame, and assaulted another woman known to him with a door. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 7th, 2018. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Kristina Jarvo-Pichie, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on July 6th, 2018 and charged with threats. It is alleged on July 3rd, 2018 the woman made threats to harm a woman known to her and police were contacted to investigate. On July 6th, 2018, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 14th, 2018.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Sarah Bombardier, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on July 6th, 2018 and charged with mischief under $5000, breach of recognizance, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 3rd, 2018 the woman damaged a vacuum at a Second Street business and police were contacted to investigate. On July 6th, 2018 the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 12th, 2018.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Shari Gagnon, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on July 7th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on November 20th, 2017 for a theft charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 7th, 2018 the woman was located by police during a traffic stop. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.




THEFT UNDER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Scott Taylor, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on July 8th, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of recognizance for failing to report and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man failed to report on July 5th, 2018, despite his conditions. It is further alleged on July 8th, 2018 the man attended a Marlborough Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Lindsay Pilon, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on July 8th, 2018 and charged with assault cause bodily harm and assault with a weapon. It is alleged on July 8th, 2018, the woman struck someone known to her with a glass cup, causing an injury that required medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 2nd, 2018.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Kananakehneh Green, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on July 8th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man assaulted a man not known to him in April and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 8th, 2018, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on August 2nd, 2018.

UNLAWFUL USE OF CREDIT CARD, FRAUD UNDER $5000, BREACH, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – Brett Ellis, 19, and Joshua Lauzon-McAlear, 20, both of Cornwall, were arrested on July 8th, 2018 and charged with the following:

• Fraud under $5000 x 5
• Unlawful use of credit card x 5
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Breach of probation for failing to keep the peace

It is alleged on July 2nd, 2018, the men attended numerous convenience stores and restaurants, and used a credit card and debit card that did not belong to them. On July 8th, 2018, police located the men. They were taken into custody, charged accordingly and will appear in court at a later date.

There were 178 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in over the weekend (8am Friday to 8am Monday morning).
