ELGIN, ON) – Leeds County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft at the bank of Montreal in Elgin, ON.
On the 26th of September 2018, at around 1:30 p.m. OPP in Leeds County received a call about a theft that had just taken place at the Bank of Montreal on Main St in the village of Elgin.
OPP officers, as well as Leeds County OPP Crime Unit members, OPP K-9 Unit, and OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded to the scene.
The suspect is described as, possibly male, wearing a yellow rain poncho, as well as a blue windbreaker style hoodie, with a red bandana over the face and sunglasses.
The theft occurred between 1 pm and 2 pm on this date.
As a precaution the area schools initiated a hold and secure for the students this precaution has since been removed and the hold and secure released.
OPP officers, OPP Crime Unit members, OPP K-9 unit and OPP ERT team remain at the scene assisting with the investigation.
This matter continues to be under investigation.
