Busy SD&G #OPP Christmas Break Round Up 122818

(STORMONT, DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 195 calls for service from Monday December 24, 2018 to Friday December 28, 2018.

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–             21 Motor Vehicle collisions

–             19 calls for Police assistance

–             14 – 911 calls

–             21 traffic complaints

–             16 Traffic enforcement occurrences

–             24 RIDE Programs

–             4 Domestic disputes

–             4 thefts

–             4 suspicious activity call

–             2 family disputes

–             1 warrant calls

–             2 assault

–             1 break and enter

–             1 mental health act calls

–             1 threats calls

–           7 property related calls

–           10 Alarms

ASSAULT

(NORTH DUNDAS, ON) – On December 25, 2018 at approximately 9:51pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute on King Street in North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had assaulted a female.

An adult male (35) from Chesterville, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:

– 1 count of Assault

– 1 count of Assault with a Weapon

– 1 count of Mischief Under $5000.00

– 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

TAKE MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT CONSENT

(NORTH GLENGARRY, ON) – On December 24, 2018 at approximately 4:17pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Angel Rd in North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a male had taken a motor vehicle without consent.

Claude mark BONNEVILLE (25) from North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:

– 1 count of Take Motor vehicle Without Consent

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on February 6, 2019.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

Between December 24, 2018,and December 27, 2018 SD&G OPP officers conducted speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401 and Highway 417, intercepted vehicle(s) for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– December 25, 2018 – 2:46pm (North Glengarry) vehicle stopped travelling 162km/h (100km/h zone) on Hwy 417. Male driver (19) from Brampton, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 – December 25, 2018 – 11:29pm (South Dundas) vehicle stopped travelling 192km/h (100km/h zone) on Hwy 401. Male driver (26) from Markham, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– December 26, 2018 – 2:59am (South Dundas) vehicle stopped travelling 152km/h (100km/h zone) on Hwy 401. Male driver (21) from East York, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– December 26, 2018 – 3:04am (South Dundas) vehicle stopped travelling 162km/h (100km/h zone) on Hwy 401. Male driver (28) from North York, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– December 26, 2018 – 7:49am (South Dundas) vehicle stopped travelling 165km/h (100km/h zone) on Hwy 401. Male driver (32) from Aurora, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– December 26, 2018 – 8:30am (South Dundas) vehicle stopped travelling 155km/h (100km/h zone) on Hwy 401. Female driver (24) from Windsor, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– December 26, 2018 – 9:26am (South Dundas) vehicle stopped travelling 166km/h (100km/h zone) on Hwy 401. Male driver (28) from London, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
