FRAUD UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, THEFT UNDER $5000, THEFT OVER $5000, UTTER A FORGED DOCUMENT, UNLAWFUL USE OF CREDIT CARD, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON, CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Kristen Burnell, 20, of Cornwall, was arrested on January 10th, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Fraud under $5000 x 3
• Possession of property obtained by crime x 6
• Theft under $5000 x 3
• Theft over $5000
• Utter a forged document x 2
• Unlawful use of credit card
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Possession of a prohibited weapon
• Carry a concealed weapon

It is alleged throughout September and October, 2018, the woman used various bank cards that did not belong to her, as well as endorsed and deposited stolen cheques. Additionally, on January 6th, 2019, the woman attended a Brookdale Avenue business and removed an electronic device, making no attempt to pay for the item before leaving the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 10th, 2019, police located the woman. She was taken into custody, at which time she was found to be in possession of a knife. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Akwesasne woman was arrested on January 10th, 2019 and charged with breach of recognizance x 2 for contacting her boyfriend. It is alleged the woman was found in the company of her boyfriend on two occasions, despite her conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On January 10th, 2019, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED

Cornwall, ON – Robert Rothwell, 60, of Cornwall was arrested on January 10th, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Fifth Street and Bedford Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 17th, 2019.

REQUEST FOR PUBLIC ASSISTANCE – MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Police Service is looking to identify the man pictured below in relation to a mischief that occurred on December 13th, 2018. Shortly before 5 pm, the man allegedly caused damage to a motor vehicle in the area of Pitt Street (between Second St. and Third St.).

The man is described as follows:

• Caucasian man
• Believed to be in his 20s
• 5’10”
• Approx. 170 lbs
• Wearing a light brown jacket
