Intoxicated Couple Charged in Cornwall after Video Game & TV Damage #CPS Police Blotter 042919

CARE & CONTROL, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Leanne Ducharme, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on April 26th, 2019 and charged with care and control of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged while in the area of Pitt Street and Wellington Street, the woman was found to be in care and control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 23rd, 2019.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 26th, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged the youth “keyed” a motor vehicle belonging to a woman known to her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREAK AND ENTER, THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Motard, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on April 27th, 2019 and charged with break and enter, theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man entered an Emma Avenue residence, without permission, and took a quantity of cash from a man unknown to him before fleeing the area. Police were contacted and located the man a short time later. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man, both of Cornwall, were arrested on April 28th, 2019 and each charged with domestic assault and mischief under $5000. It is alleged during an argument, the man and woman both struck each other while intoxicated. It is further alleged the woman damaged the man’s electronic gaming console and the man damaged a television in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.

There were 140 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in over the weekend (8am Friday to 8am Monday morning).
