DOMESTIC BREACHES
Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 16th, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for contacting and being within 50 metres of his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on May 6th, 2019, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On May 16th, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the courthouse as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody pending a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT, BREACH, OBSTRUCT
Cornwall, ON – Brittany Howard-Markell, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on May 16th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court. She was also charged with obstruct and breach of recognizance for failing to reside at an approved address, failing to report to her bail program, and for failing to notify a change of address to police. On May 16th, 2019, police located the woman during a traffic stop, at which time she identified herself as someone else. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Symphony Pierce, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on May 16th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 6th, 2019 the woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 16th, 2019, police located the woman during a traffic stop, at which time she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 13th, 2019.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 16th, 2019 and charged with assault x 4 and threats x 3. It is alleged between 2015 and early 2019, the man assaulted his girlfriend on four occasions, as well as made threats to harm her and burn down her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 16th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
OVER 80, REFUSAL
Cornwall, ON – Hilary Thain, 46, of Cornwall was arrested on May 16th, 2019 and charged with over 80 and refusal. It is alleged the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, when her car struck another vehicle in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Seventh Street West. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the woman failed to provide a proper sample of her breath upon demand. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 23rd, 2019.
