MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – ROADWAY CLOSED
Fatal Crash
(NORTH GLENGARRY,ON) – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently at the scene of a two (2) vehicle collision on Highway 417 Eastbound between County Road 34 (mile marker 27) and McCrimmon Road (mile marker 35), North Glengarry Township.

Preliminary investigation has indicated that at approximately 7:47am, a tractor trailer (1) was travelling eastbound on Highway 417 when, for reasons under investigation, collided with a stationary tractor trailer (2) in a construction zone.
The adult driver (lone occupant) of the eastbound Tractor trailer (1) was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The adult driver (lone occupant) of the second tractor trailer was uninjured.
SD&G OPP continue to investigate the collision with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI).
Names are being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
As the investigation continues, Detours are in place between mile marker 27(County Road 34) Eastbound and Mile Marker 35(McCrimmon Road).
