SD&G #OPP Put Out Proper Professional Police Blotter JUNE 25, 2019

(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 176 calls for service from Friday June 21, 2019 to Tuesday June 24, 2019.

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–            12 Motor Vehicle collision

–            17 calls for Police assistance/information

–            25- 911 calls

–            17 traffic complaints

–            4 traffic hazards

–            8 Traffic enforcement occurrence’s

–            7 Domestic disputes

–            3 thefts

–            3 Mischief call

–            3 suspicious activity call

–            4 family disputes

–            2 warrant call

–            2 fraud complaint

–            2 assault calls

–            2 break and enter calls

–            3 mental health calls

–          7 Animal complaints

–          3 Missing person

CHARGES LAID

(SOUTH GLENGARRY, ON) – As a result of an assault investigation conducted by members of the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police, an 18 year old male resident of South Glengarry was arrested on June 23, 2019. Investigation indicated the victim has suffered non life threatening injuries in an assault.

Alexandre Jean SEGUIN (age 18) of South Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

–            Assault cause bodily harm

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria court on August 14, 2019.

ASSAULT – DOMESTIC

(SOUTH STORMONT, ON) – On June 23, 2019 at approximately 7:37am Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in South Stormont Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his spouse.

A 39-year-old male of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault (3 counts)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall July 23, 2019.

TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN CHARGES

(NORTH GLENGARRY ON) – On June 24, 2019 at approximately 2:55am, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officer had the occasion to stop a vehicle for a Highway traffic act violation on Highway 417, North Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed that the driver was in contravention of the Highway Traffic Act.

Charlie FRITZER (20) of Casselman, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive Motor Vehicle – no validated permit (HTA)

– Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

The vehicles was impounded and the driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy and were charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN CHARGES

(SOUTH STORMONT, ON) – On June 22, 2019 at approximately 3:25am, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officer had the occasion to stop a vehicle for a Highway traffic act violation on Highway 138, south Stormont Township. Investigation revealed that the male driver was in contravention of a Criminal Code suspension, a Provincial Offence suspension and the Highway Traffic Act.

Cody DHEILLY-LABELLE (31) of South Stormont Township, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive While Disqualified

– Drive while under suspension

The vehicle was impound for a period of 45 days in relation to the Criminal Code suspension

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(SD&G) – On June 21-24, 2019 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and their driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy and were charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– June 22, 2019- 2:26am (South Glengarry); vehicle stopped traveling 158km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401) Male (23) driver from Cambridge, Ontario.
